As a child, I had always dreamed of traveling to visit places with distinctive features from one another. Some places are famous for their architectural wonders while others have scenic beauty in abundance. The beauty of life lies right in front of our eyes. Many places are breath-taking all over the world, however, it is up to one’s liking and personal preference to what is more beautiful than another.
I have visited many places in the span of my life that are of historical and scenic importance. However, the one place that will always resonate with me is the visit to Banff. It was a last-minute call after traveling through-out the west coast with little time left to spend at the end of our vacation week, my friend and I decided to go to Banff. The most extraordinary part of one of the places I visited in Banff was Lake Louis. After climbing a merely steep mountain, about an average of 100 meters in height, I reached the top of that rocky mountain I had only been able to find the beauty of life right in front of my eyes. As I turned to face the lake and the surrounding mountains with a clear blue sky as the sun was setting. The reflection of the mountains on the lake and the haze color from the sunset left an astonishing image in my memory that I will never forget.

The town of Banff is relatively small but due to its location surrounded by mountains, it is a great place to enjoy going to restaurants and doing some shopping. Many tourist guides provide services to relevant areas for the utmost experience.
The Gondola ride is one of the best things sought to be done by tourists to find the perfect view of Sulphur Mountain. An eight-minute journey in an enclosed cabin with windows brought us right to the summit overlooking the town with an breathtaking view. While at the top, we dined at the Panorama Restaurant while watching the Alpine Lights at the mountaintop.
Another place to visit in Banff is Lake Minnewanka. It is the second-longest lake in Banff National Park. There are many things to do at Lake Minnewanka but it is primarily popular for picnicking, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, diving, and snowshoeing. First Nations people called it Min-waki which translates to Lake of the Spirits. First Nations respected and feared the lake for its resident spirits. Early European settlers later named it Devil’s Lake. Its peak time is in the summer. Also at Lake Minnewanka, there is a scenic boat cruise that goes out daily to the Devil’s Gap with an interpretive tour guide that speaks of the rich history and local lore of the lake and surrounding mountains.
In addition to Lake Minnewanka, Lake Louise in Banff. It is world-famous for its turquoise lakes, the Victoria Glacier, soaring mountain backdrop, palatial hotel, and incredible hiking and skiing. It is surrounded by a lifetime of jaw-dropping sights and adventures. The Hamlet of Lake Louise is also located just off the Trans-Canada Highway. It has a smaller shopping center with a grocery store, bakery, deli, bar, sporting goods, and a visitor information center. Much smaller and quieter than the town of Banff.
To end an unforgettable trip, we went to the Columbia Icefield while in Banff. It is sought to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. With massive Ice Explorer vehicles specially designed for glacier travel. A guided tour that filled us in on the thrilling trip sharing a wealth of fascinating information about glaciers and their impact on our environment. Many people are fascinated by the glacier and often pull out their phones to take photos of everything their eyes capture is considered beautiful. The grand finale of this experience is the Glacier Skywalk. A walkway on the cliff edge where giant glaciers perch above and the spectacular Sunwapta Valley spreads out below. While on the Skywalk, we experienced waterfalls, wildlife, and fossils.
Overall, there are many places in the world to visit however the beauty of the Rockies on the West Coast has left me and many people daydreaming of the places that nature has to offer to us.
