Go on adventure, and conquer the fear, sometimes we need to follow our heart and do things that scare us the most or we aren’t strong enough to do. Marlin expresses inordinate fear towards the ocean, he teaches Nemo to fear because of his past experiences. His first step to vanquish the terror that controls his life is the quest for Nemo, he ventures on a search and rescue mission regardless of the peril he is bound to. During his journey road back, he releases all his fear and discovers that some chances are worth taking. Eventually, Marlin learns that you can't let your fears control your life. Yes, the world is a scary place sometimes, but if we don't take some risks, we'll never get to experience the good stuff, either. The meaning is that without going on the adventure of life, we won't be properly equipped to deal with the seemingly impossible, terrifying challenges and conquer our fears.
Battle between the Good and Evil is the true representation of prime forces, that is described on many occasions in the Hero’s Journey. Along with the Hero’s self-sacrificing nature lies the responsibility to combat and defeat evil. Evil is just as much part of the universe as good and it is evident throughout the movie UP. Carl and Russell aren’t perfect, they’re flawed, just like all of us. But they do not shirk their responsibility to face the evil in front of them, the evil they’re up against is of the most sinister variety. The villain, Charles Muntz, introduces a disturbing reality about evil in our world, he is someone who seems remarkable on the surface, as an explorer and storied adventurer who treats Carl and Russell kindly, but only after the dinner does his ugliness surface. The movie through the characters Carl, Russell, Dug, and Kevin shows eternal optimism in the continual portrayal of good triumphing over evil despite great odds.

Self-transformation is the way, if nothing ever changes, there will be no butterflies. We are never the same as we were a year ago, or five, or ten years. Life means growth, change, becoming wiser, stronger, more skilled, and occasionally making mistakes and slipping backward the way we all do. The tragedy that hit Marlin's family with a barracuda attack made a huge impact on him with the loss of his wife and nearly 400 children. The aftermath of the attack left him parenting Nemo alone and during the journey of raising Nemo, he became very overprotective and showed the traits of a parent who always behaved like a watchguard. With this, Nemo felt suffocated and oppressed. After Nemo’s disappearance, Marlin goes on a quest to find his son where he encounters situations that demand him to change to overcome the obstacles with bravery and courage which were not reflected in his previous behavior. He changed to recover the person he loved most in the world despite the odds being against him.
Perseverance is one of the defining characteristics of the Hero. He sets off on his journey and he never gives up, even when confronted with challenges that the mortal man may not be able to overcome. He sticks true to his journey and his goal and does not waver even when tempted by appealing alternatives, such as living a new life in a new place or accepting unexpected power. The Hero knows what is expected of him and what he is responsible for even if it is unappreciated by others. He knows that he will be rewarded for his good deeds by the powers that be. Marlin and Dory during their quest to find Nemo are constantly faced with life-threatening challenges, almost eaten away by a shark, being attacked by seagulls, or being trapped with the jellyfish. But with all the trials to find Nemo their resiliency and perseverance kept them going towards achieving their goals.
