Nicole Dong Ms, Walker Ninth Grade Literature 04 December 2019 Career in Animation Working as a Multimedia Artist or Animator has been a dream for me since I started learning to draw and appreciate many animated films like movies or comics, just anything art related. Many people probably just watch an animated film or read a comic without thinking anything about it, but I like to think how long it took to make something like this and appreciate the artwork in it with the many people who also worked hard to make it. CAREER INFORMATION (GENERAL) Multimedia Artists and Animators are usually required to create movies and video games, and some do visual effects for video games and television shows too. They work by using computer software or writing their own computer code. An area specifically that I want to focus on is animation and how to make films and create a movie, but also together I want to draw comics. I want to mostly focus on how to do animation and be able to learn how to create films because I am determined to learn as I want to create my own animations and comics too. Multimedia Artists and Animators are usually required to work 40 hours a week and most Multimedia Artists and Animators work in office-style work environments. There is nothing usual that I have seen about the number of hours or the nature of the work schedule which might relate to this job field. Qualifications for people in this field need a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, art, or a related field to develop an impressive portfolio of work. Animators learn how to use computer animation software that they are required to and experience could be working with programs used to create animations or art experience.
Many types of people work in the art field and gender and age usually don’t matter as you see people of gender and age are all different. Your personality just has to be normal and be able to work with others and cooperate with people you are working with for who knows how long. Just don’t act out or act like somehow you are better than others in some way. Many people enter the art field in one way and that is because they want a career in art or because they know how to draw, animate, use art programs, and edit and need a bachelor’s degree in computer graphics, art, or a related field to develop both an impressive portfolio of work to enter to this field. EARNINGS Depending on which career you want in the field, each of them can be different. Multimedia Artists and Animators can expect to earn $72,520 per year and $34.87 per hour in 2018. Animators usually start with a salary of around $35,000 to $80,000 in the beginning and the average salary for animators is $64,000 for them. The amount from $64,000 to 80,000 seems exceptional enough even though their salaries can go even higher up to 100k if you work for places like DreamWorks or Pixar. ADD BENEFITS OF THE JOB Most Multimedia Artists or Animators have a lot of freedom from their work including having flexible hours and creative freedom to draw or create whatever they want. They are able to create what they want and many animators are self-employed which has a lot of advantages including more freedom, saving more money, and because they are self-employed, it means they can adjust their schedules so they have a normal workload rather than a lot at the same time. New technology has made animation easier for animators to work with and they could gain more skills from it too.

Conclusion
I would be interested in studying this career path because it seems like it has a lot to offer that I would be interested in. Most of the information this career path has to offer seems hard, but I enjoy the types of things that this career can offer as it is art related, which is something I have enjoyed doing for a long time.
