Who is LeBron James? You’re kidding right? You mean to tell me you don’t know who one of the best at least in the NBA ( National basketball Association parentheses is. Well I am here to tell you about him and all the many ways that he leaves his community. Many people know LeBron for his athleticism and many awards. LeBron has played for multiple teams, but he currently plays for Los Angeles Lakers. He was born in Ohio state on December 30, 1984, which makes him 35 years of age.

LeBron became a legend at a very young age. He graduated from St. Vincent St Mary high school. Never playing college ball because he was drafted by the cavalier straight out of high school. Yes! That’s right straight out of high school. Do you know how much of a beast you have to be? I mean the kid was only 18, by far the most- hyped and popular high school basketball player ever. LeBron was 6 feet tall at the age of 13 and was 170 pounds coming into high school. This guy was huge and pretty stocky. In his NBA career he has over 30 award three Olympic medals and now has three championship rings.

LeBron now has three kids but my names Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri, which some of you may know bronny Because he is following his father’s footsteps of being one of the best high school players. He is ranked 24th on coast-to-coast preps list of the top class of recruits, the kid is only in ninth grade, but you know what they say “like father like son”. LeBron is married to his beautiful wife Savannah , Which they met in 2002 and have been married since 2013. LeBron is the only child of his parents Gloria Marie James and Anthony McClelland. Grown-up LeBron didn’t live the lavish life that you would think with him being so popular, but fame doesn’t always come with dollar signs. Is that was an ex-con who wasn’t around when he grew up. His mother was a single parent and they were poor and had a tough time.

As LeBron became older he became more rich in power and were determined for greatness. He was up for challenging the process takes success. One of his famous quotes that I enjoy the most is “ don’t be afraid of failure. This is the way to succeed” I chose this statement because I feel that our mistakes shape us and if we don’t fail at something then it’s too easy for us to have because then that means it easy for everyone else to have access to as well. LeBron is all about working together as he states “ you cannot go at leader ship alone. Great teams prevail when they grow and evolve together”, although he is talking about his NBA team he make sure that applies both on and off the court. Enough about LeBron‘s personal life let’s talk about his leader ship and how he impact society.

LeBron always had plans to help his community. He knew that there was many kids facing the same challenges as him growing up and still are. The phone never went to his head, he made sure not to forget where you came from. He wanted to model the way for his community by doing that he set up The LeBron James family foundation. The foundation raises and donates money for several charities. This foundation was a mission to positively affect the lives of children and young adults through education and Cole curricular educational initiatives. “ we believe in education and living in active, healthy lifestyle is pivotal to the development of children and young adults” - LeBron. This is his first big achievement that he really want it, next he created a school by the name of “I promise” they opened up in 2018 and a queen Ohio that supports LeBron’s foundation and specifically aimed at at-risk children. He wanted to unite his community through promises he kept all his life. I personally think that build in the school for children to be successful was by far the most pensive idea a celebrity has did. It shows how unselfish and caring he is. If you think his leader ship stops there then you have another thing coming. LeBron is involved in five other humongous charitable donations, so let’s talk about them. After-School All-Stars

LeBron’s Foundation began the After-School All-Stars for the children of his hometown, Akron. The Foundation has raised money and donated to the charity for many years. It began as a bike-a-thon, “Wheels For Education” to raise money for children in Akron to have help with education and a place to go after school. It developed into a program to help “at risk” children of Akron in a variety of ways. The program provides mentoring and help with education as well as extracurricular activities. The goal is to keep kids in school and encourage them to graduate. It begins in the third grade when students need to reach state standards to move up to the fourth grade. Muhammad Ali: A Force For Change

LeBron James donated money for the exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture’s exhibit honoring boxing legend Muhammad Ali. The exhibit entitled “Muhammad Ali: A Force For Change” spans two parts of the museum honoring Ali, one celebrating his stellar boxing career and one celebrating his social activism. LeBron donated $2.5 million to the exhibit, joining Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson in contributing. LeBron has said that Ali was an important inspiration to him as an athlete but also as a champion of justice. LeBron admired the boxing legend, who passed away in June 2016 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Boys and Girls Club of America

LeBron James designated $2.5 million of the proceeds from ESPN’s “The Decision” special to Boys and Girls Clubs of America. While in Miami, LeBron was very involved in Miami’s club. The club helps give all children equal opportunities and provides after school mentoring and activities. LeBron and his wife designed and donated furniture to the Miami club through Home Court Furniture. They replaced the roof and fixed up the children’s work space. They donated 1000 new computers to 59 Boys and Girls Clubs throughout America. Children’s Defense Fund

The Children’s Defense Fund started in 1973. Its purpose is to be a voice for children’s rights and make sure that all children are treated equally and fairly. LeBron James’ Foundation is a major contributor to the non profit organization. As with the After-School All-Stars, the program focuses on “at risk” children who come from poor backgrounds and helps these children complete their education. ONEXONE

ONEXONE also focuses on the support of children. Their mission includes taking care of children by helping them with the 5 pillars: hunger, health, education, water and play. Like After-School All-Stars, the organization uses donations to provide help to those children who need it and encourages them by giving them hope and a sense of pride. The program provides healthy breakfasts in schools, water, medical help, educational help and after school activities. As with most of LeBron’s charitable causes, he especially gives back to the children. If you haven’t noticed all the charities have to do with helping young children become successful and out of poverty.
