After graduation, my ideal plan would be to go into a dentistry career and become a Dental Hygienist. I want to go to a community college that has dental programs, so when I switch to a University I will already have experience. I want to be selective in choosing my college. I want to ensure the college I am choosing has the programs I need. I also want to attend somewhere that will guarantee me a job after college

After high school, I do plan on living with my parents just until I'm done with community college. That way I don’t have to worry about my living space. My house, which is north of Stockton, close to Delta won't be difficult getting there and back. The cost of living with my parents won't be very much because my dad owns the house and I don't think he would make me pay any rent. Then again he does want to prepare me for the real world and my future so, if he did the most he would make me pay probably 200 - 500 dollars. This really helps because I don't have to worry about having a roof over my head.

When I transfer to a University which will either be in New York or Los Angeles(New York University or the University of Southern California). I obviously plan on moving out but I recently changed my career so I haven't fully decided. I have been thinking about communal living or living with a roommate because it's really expensive to live out there. It's not my first choice but it is the more affordable choice. The reason I choose these schools is that one is far away and I would love to experience living away from everyone and starting fresh. However, the University of Southern California is much closer. It's still far but closer than New York but I would still be able to drive if I wanted to, a long 6-7 hours but way better than 1 day and 16-hour drive.

In order for me to take off with my career I need to obtain an associate's degree in dental hygiene. I still need to do more research but I'm almost certain I should major in the science field and take biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, physics, and mathematics. Something I mentioned earlier was going to community college and transferring. I have a lot of choices like USF, UCLA, and USC. Of course, I have those but they don't necessarily fit my expectations. For the colleges I do want to enroll in the expenses are between 20,000 - 70,000. You need at least a 2.0 GPA or higher and high SAT/ACT scores. Personally, I have a GPA down but I am nervous about the test scores I am preparing myself for that, by taking a practice test at khan academy.

Now how am I going to pay for all of this? I plan on completing my FAFSA and applying for scholarships. I don't want to have to pay off loans but probably will be in debt I'll try my best not to. Recently I applied for the Courage To Grow scholarship and I just had to submit a short paragraph on why I have the courage to grow. I also plan on working and going to college at the same time. Some say it's hard but I know I can handle it. I don’t want my parents to have to pay for any of my college fees but I know they will. I haven't applied for any financial aid, but do plan on it.

For a Dental Hygienist, the job outlook from 2018-2028 is 11% which is much faster than average. The demand for this professional is pretty high. I plan to hop on this as soon as possible. My original plan was to take a break after high school but that isn’t the smartest idea so I’m going to find a community college that specializes in dental.

I believe my choice of career is going to come in between my relationships because I will be so far. I won’t be able to see everyone as much as I would like, but I can't let that stop me. Relationships don't last forever so I can't let that hold me back. I don't want to regret not choosing something I thrived for because of a relationship that might break apart later on but if it is meant to be it will stay strong. I just want to make sure I’m making the right choices for me because this is the life that I am going to be living.

After college, I don't mind living alone especially if I can afford it. Depending on where I get a job that will determine where I would live, I'd be honored to live in a nice luxury house or apartment. I would love for it to be on the hilltop that way I can look over the whole city. Since Dental hygienists make good money and they can work in more than one office, I believe I will be able to live the life I wish. Hopefully, my relationships last throughout this stressful process cause then I can have my dream life, being married and having kids someday owning my house and maybe even a business. I’ve always wanted to travel and see the world, definitely before I have kids. Being a Dental Hygienist can support and get in the way of this, Why? Because of the money, I would be making but always constantly working so there would be no time to travel.

Currently, I am trying to keep myself together and work really hard to keep my grades up, but I have so much on my plate, which makes it difficult to balance things. Knowing me I’m not going to give up or let my parents down. I need to start being on my shit more because college is not going to be easy.

Next term I will be taking anatomy and physiology so I won't have to take that in college and I’m trying to build myself to get ready for college. In order to be successful in this career you have to be motivated and dedicated, have confidence don't doubt yourself. You have to be able to work with people and have a positive attitude and be in people's mouths.

I am not sure if this is the way I want my life to be. Life tends to change direction very often. What I plan to do now might not be what I want to do in a few years. Even if my plans change, I will always have goals for myself. With hard work and determination, I plan to accomplish my goals, whatever they may be, and live up to my full potential.
