Romeo and Juliet were undisciplined children. The characters , Romeo and Juliet, in the play 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, make rash decisions regarding their lives; which were influenced by, nature, their instinct, and nurture, how they were raised, effects decisions. Romeo and Juliet's decisions are evenly influenced by psychoanalytic theory and behaviorism because nature and nurture affect all decisions made by teens.

Both behaviorism and psychoanalytic theory affect decisions. For example behaviorism, also known as nurture, described by Stanford is 'The sources of behavior are external, not internal(Behaviorism '(Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)). Meaning behaviorism is an external stimuli that has affected the way humans make decisions. A good example is the way people are raised. The way parents raise their affect the way their brain makes decisions. Behaviorism can impact people in both good and bad ways. Equally important, is how psychoanalytic theory, also known as nature, affects the way the brain makes decisions. Psychoanalytic theory defined by Business Jargon is 'The personality theory, which is based on the notion that an individual gets motivated more by unseen forces that are controlled by the conscious and the rational thought ' (Psychoanalytic Theory). Meaning that an individual is affected by their brain development. Brain development is categorized into three characteristics: Id, Ego ,and Super-ego. The website Business Jargon describes Id, Ego, and Super-ego as follows. Id is the primitive part of the brain that seeks pleasure and gratitude. Ego is the logical, conscious part of the brain; the way it thinks. Super-ego is the moral part of the brain that manages ethical restraint on behavior and develops the conscience(Psychoanalytic Theory). All in all, both nature and nurture influence all decisions made by individuals impacting their life.

For example, in the play Romeo is in love just by looking at Rosaline ,niece to Lord Capulet((Shakespeare)act 1 scene 1). He has not takin the time to know her. He is rash about who he loves by the way he feels/sees them. To elaborate, all these actions go to prove psychoanalytic theory correct. Business Jargon says 'Id is the primitive part of the mind that seeks immediate gratification of biological or instinctual needs' (Psychoanalytic Theory). Romeo loves only for self-gratification. Proving, that the Romeo's love is rash and not true. All in all, the bad decisions Romeo makes prove psychoanalytic theory correct.

Juliet, in the play 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, makes decisions proving psychoanalytic theory correct. In addition, The decisions made by Juliet are quick and unthoughtful. An example, in the play Juliet marries Romeo in a matter of days((Shakespeare) act 2 scene 6). Juliet married Romeo as an act of desperation to stay together forever. Juliet wasn’t courted by Romeo long enough to know if they would actually love each other and marry. Instead they married out of impulse and lust. To further the point, all these made by Juliet prove psychoanalytic theory correct. Business Jargon says 'Id is the primitive part of the mind that seeks immediate gratification of biological or instinctual needs' (Psychoanalytic Theory). Even more this relates to Juliet because she fell in love and married Romeo on pure gratification. With no well thought out plan she married a complete stranger for life. Thus, proving Juliet's decisions prove psychoanalytic theory correct.

Romeo, in the play 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, makes decisions proving behaviorism correct. The way Romeo was raised affect the he lived his life and made decisions. Adding on, Romeo's parents didn't have much affiliation with Romeo. For example, in act 1 scene 1 when Romeo enters Benvolio sends Romeo's parents away because he wont tell them but will tell Benvolio. Romeo's 'father' was really Friar Lawrence. He's the one Romeo went to if he needed something. This relationship was not a good parent child relationship as Friar Lawrence was a priest and not in Romeo's life every day. Furthermore, this leads to Romeo not having a good childhood with the needed advice parents give to their children. Adding on, All these factors lead up to the fact that Romeo does not have the life advice he needs to court and do many other thing a growing teen does. Also in act 1 scene 1 Romeo talks about his love for Rosaline but can only dream as he does not know how to actually speak and curt her. Proving the point that the lack of Romeo's parents involvement in his life effect the way he makes decisions.

Juliet, in the play 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, makes decisions proving behaviorism correct. Juliet's parents were not involved in her life. Her true parent was her nursemaid. She went to her nurse if she needed anything. With the nurse not being the parent she did not give Juliet the advice that she needed to grow up. This absent of parenting also leads to her being lonely and ignorant. All of this leads up to the point that Juliet is inexperienced and should not make decisions regarding her own well-being. For example in act 1 where she first met Romeo through act 2 where they get married is only two days. This proves that Juliet's lack of parenting has made her rash and impulsive toward her decisions. All in all, this proves that parenting effects the decisions Juliet makes.

Continuing, both Romeo's and Juliet's decisions prove that the decisions made by teens are influenced by nature and nurture. Nature is id, Ego, and Super-ego. These are the parts of the brain that are there from birth. They decide what decision is made. At a young age these three are rash and seek immediate gratification. Like Romeo and Juliet they're young and are rash and seeking immediate gratification. Nature is how kids are raised by their parents. Good parents prepare their child for the future bad ones don’t and uninvolved don’t care. Both Romeo's and Juliet's parents are uninvolved. They did not raise them or give them advice an ever day things. Uninvolved parents are kids can become rash, depressed, get in trouble etc. and sometimes all of them are symptoms. Like Romeo and Juliet they are rash; Romeo is depressed and sometimes they get in trouble. Proving how teens are raised effects the way their brain makes decisions. All in all, nature and nurture effect the decisions made by Romeo, Juliet, and all teens.

Psychoanalytic theory and behaviorism affect the way that teens make decisions. Teens instinct and how they were raised are the main contributing factors that influence decisions made by teens. Sometimes kids can be bad kids.
