My name is Praveen Kumar Reddy, Ravulacheruvu and I will be turning 30 years old in about two months. I come from South India where I used to stay with my family and moved to the US in 2014 when I was only 24 years old. I am privileged to have a family that values knowledge and in line with the same, my parents took me to the best elementary school that was in our area before I proceeded to pursue my High School and College education in Hyderabad, India. I managed to get my bachelor’s degree in the year 2011 and thereafter progressed to undertake my master’s program at the University of Central Missouri. After attaining my master’s degree, I was fortunate enough to secure a place to work as an Oracle BI consultant where I worked on delivering Business Intelligence solutions. Thereafter I shifted to work on the Oracle Hyperion suite of products and now working as a PCM (Profitability and Cost Management) consultant. Since I would love to advance my skills in the field of IT, I thought it to be a good idea for me to pursue a PhD program with this well-renowned university as my prime institution of choice. In the 21st Century, technology has been a major component of growth in almost every sector of production across the globe. It’s therefore prudent to note that the most lucrative and intriguing areas of research within the IT domain include; Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), Data analysis, and finally Data Security. With a clear and perfect system that focuses on these specific areas, we will boast of profitable organizations that are free from attacks and major technological threats. Most systems are now adopting machines that can be seen to adopt this form of technology to ensure that they serve their clients in a timely, efficient, and quality manner.
I’m personally interested in these specific areas since they have a considerably high-level potential if they are well utilized in this field, above all they are seen to undergo tremendous changes in a blink of an eye. We cannot turn a blind eye to the advancements which are taking place at alarming speeds and therefore I will always be on the lookout for improvement in my line of duty and that means being up to date for every second of our lives. I currently work as a Senior Oracle Consultant where I work on managing the organization's expenses/revenue using the Profitability and Cost Management (PCM) analytic application. My primary role is providing business production support which includes information systems security. My specific interest and bias towards Data Security and securing client information will go a long way towards seeing me obtain the relevant skills, knowledge, and expertise from the program which can then be relayed into practice to not only make the organization profitable and safe but also a one-stop place for clients to get timely, affordable and quality solutions to their issues.
Therefore, venturing into the PhD program will not only give me an edge as an employee of the company but also enable me to climb up the management ladder. Additionally, I will be able to work in some of the competitive organizations and even within other government institutions. The opportunity will truly change my career path to a greater extent. First and foremost, I have the necessary and adept research skills that will be required to undertake my studies as well as other academic projects and assignments. This will ensure that I will deliver the best results in all the tasks assigned to me by the supervisors and tutors. Additionally, I can attest to the results of embracing teamwork in learning as well as in my place of work. I’m very content and hopeful that I will be able to work with my peers so that we can deliver the required results within the set deadlines as one team. This will also help me learn from others while they also learn from me. The other thing to note is that am usually dedicated to any tasks that are assigned to me and will therefore find it manageable to work with colleagues by task allocation, consultation, and pooling together of minds to come up with superb solutions altogether. The primary and core reason why I am pursuing this Doctorate is that after completion of the program, I will be able to make better decisions and offer viable solutions within my place of work. I also look forward to participating in activities that focus on the creation and development of outstanding content that can be of significant importance to society as a whole. I cannot forget to mention that I look forward to engaging in mentorship programs that will focus on encouraging our youth to follow the right paths and more so venture into IT-related projects that will prompt discoveries and offer new solutions to the community. As a sign of giving back to society, I shall also strive to impart knowledge to the young generation by undertaking to teach within the resource centers on matters relating to Information Technology.
