The Religious Voice in the World means to me, that people take a stand and use their voice to get attention to them so they can address problems which are happening in the world today. People use their voice to speak about issues that they care about whether its education or society. When using their religious voice this helps make a change in humanity and how we live our daily lives. The values that are established in having a religious Voice are, Hope and Honesty and Integrity. Hope explains that things will improve in the future, but to do that, everyone needs to come together to make a change. Honest and Integrity analyzes that everyone should know the ruth and should speak honestly in what they believe in. For example people can use their voice to stop Global warming to make the world a better place for everyone. Therefore to have a religious voice in the world means to speak upon what you think needs fixing.
1 Corinthians 14:34–35 “women should be silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as the law also says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.”

Paul's teachings are relevant in this world today because Paul explains Christian solidarity as supporting the role that women have in the church and interfaces the New Testament to the Old Testament. The verses that are presented in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 show that ignorant and uneducated woman back then were silenced who wanted to learn and who were asking an excessive number of fundamental inquiries during church meetings. Therefore, they wanted to be kept silent and only lived to assist their husbands. Paul's solution to this problem that was arising, would be that these women would only ask their questions to their husbands and not in the church. The words in this letter from st Paul apply to women from any race, religion or culture that are in a relationship with a man. Paul talks about many people that should be silenced including, A Tongues- Speaker, male or female, A Prophet, male or female and Woman. The words might be used in today's society due to the unfair rights for women, in today's day and age there is many women rights that have not come into agreement and is still affecting our society today. These words could not only be used in religious or church context, but also in the modern day society as well. Therefore, This text of one of of Paul's letters describe the relevance that it continues to have, in the world today.
The Christian Spiritual Writer that I have chosen that demonstrates a ‘Religious Voice’ through their work, is Pope Francis. Pope Francis is the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City State. Pope Francis talks about guiding the churches actions in the world through many of his quotes, but the one that stands out to me, is his discussion of the problems of the poor, which are not solved by enriching the wealthy. (“As long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world's problems or, for that matter, to any problems.”) Pope Francis addresses in this quote, that he believes economic advantage in the world and collection of riches, won't support the poor. Fixing the world's most serious issues requires an examination in inequality. Pope Francis is trying to achieve a better world for all, even if they are poor, he wants to help everyone, and to achieve this we don't need economic wealth to accomplish this. Pope Francis wants to think and act in a new way to everyone else to complete the same goal of helping the poor. This writing is directed at the ‘Church’ as an institution. This quote perfectly outlines the importance of Pope Francis’s working in guiding the Church’s actions in the world.
The Catholic Social Teaching that I have chosen, which shows its significance in working for a better world for all, is Solidarity. Solidarity means we are one human family no matter how different we all are, we can stick up for one another. It’s explained as ‘loving our neighbour’, and has global dimensions. This teaching is significant in our world today because it gives a powerful and valuable understanding of the social commitments of people, networks, establishments, and countries. This makes it significant by every community working together and standing as one. Solidarity is a critical rule which should shape our public activity and help the world work together and stand as one. I could promote this Catholic Social Teaching by having my own ‘Religious Voice’ showing my consideration of respect, acceptance and understanding to help many people through my community. Some examples of how I could use Solidarity to work for a better world is to treat everyone equally no matter what race, gender or national origin their from, donating or volunteering to help people in need, even if they live far away and another way I can show solidarity is to strive for a more just society that respects the rights of all people. Therefore, Solidarity is significant in working for a better world for all.
