With all the lessons that I have in this training “TEACH ON: Keeping the Passion Alive”, I’ve learned a lot that will help me in my teaching profession as a newly hired teacher. And before it ends, there’s one word that always stuck in my heart; the word “Passion”. I’ve realized that once you teach from the heart and not just the use of the book, there is a passion that keeps burning in you. Meaning, we don’t need to study, adapt or search for it because once you love what you are doing and you are willing to sacrifice, you can call it passion.

To summarize all the things that I have shared and gathered throughout the course, let’s start with my Enabler of Passion. Based on the mind map that I previously created, my first enabler of passion is our Almighty God who gives me life, strength, and knowledge to get in touch with my future learners. Like the bible verse said, “In everything you do, put God first and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success” (Proverbs 3:6 TLB). This profession is not my first choice but through Him, he directs me on the right path so I just give my full faith in Him because I know that he guides me in what I want and I think this is what he also wants me to be. He reminds me what is my purpose in life and He always guides me in my thoughts, actions, and words. Second is my family, the greatest blessing in my life. They are my inspiration for why I continue to pursue my profession. They are always been there to support me and love me unconditionally in spite of my shortcomings. Last, is my learners who I treated also my second family. They are the reason why I love teaching because I want to be part of their success, not just only their teachers who teach and guide them but also their second parents who inspire and encourage them to soar high for their goals in life because nothing is impossible. Through the help of my enablers who always surround me, their big contribution helps me to build myself as a passionate teacher. Without them, I am nothing and I can’t reach my goals in life.

According to my “future me” vision, I want my learners to remember me as an exceptional teacher who brings passion and a love of learning, and who made them think that everyone could do anything to make a difference in life. And if I will be given a chance to choose one symbol that will represent me for them to remember me, I choose the symbol of the sun. It shines brightly which represents life, influence, and strength and gives us direction and purpose in our lives. Like the sun, I want them to shine brightly with my help of myself; as their teacher and also their second parents. I also want to be their strength in any battles that they will encounter in everyday life and also influence them in a positive and right way that everything in this world has its purpose because while the sun always and continuously shines, there is always hope that is waiting for them. In the next “future me” vision, I also want my learners to remember me in the five words that I’ve listed. First as their second mother. We all know that being a mother is not an easy role. They take big responsibilities in their child’s life. Like their mother, a teacher is always there for them. They want what is best for them and for their lives. I want to see them become successful in their lives because their success is also our success too and I’m great to be part of that success. The second word is inspiration. Nowadays, some learners don’t have self-confidence. Once they failed in life, some of them feel down. They fear trying again because they feel that it wouldn’t work again. So, in that situations, I want to be their inspiration that will facilitate their progress toward their goals in life. I want to inspire them by always trying and believing that they can do everything. Inspiring learners is essential to ensure their success and encourage them to continue fulfilling. The third word that I want my learners to remember me is being their light. We all know that light is life. It is important in our everyday lives because it guides us throughout the day. Without light, we can’t see anything or we can’t enjoy the beauty of life that we have. Being a teacher that symbolizes light, I have also played a vital role in my learners’ everyday lives. I want to be their guiding light to do what they want to do to reach their goals in life. I also want them to see and appreciate the beauty of nature that surrounds them which will give a big contribution to them as an individual. The fourth word is guide. We all know that there are a lot of challenges in life that we may encounter because life has surprises that no one can know what will happen next. As their teacher and also their second parents, I want to be their guide in every step of their lives. The last word that I want my learners to remember me is the word god-fearing. I want them to get close to God first before getting close to anyone else.

The three personal actions or changes that I will need to do to work in order to achieve my vision of “the future me” is the 3D’s: Desire, Discipline, and Devotion. The first D is desire. We all know that having a desire in life is a great starting point for our vision in life. Like my future vision as a mother. I want them to remember me as their second mother because we have good plans for our children and one of that plans is a desire for having success in their lives. We are happy to see them succeed. Second D is the discipline wherein we push everyone to continue, to stay focused, and not give up on reaching their goals in life. Like my future vision as an inspiration. When you are inspired and have this discipline, you are inspired to go in every direction of life because you find yourself in a new and wonderful world. And the third D is Devotion. God is always part of our lives because He is the one who gives us life, strength, and knowledge to do our mission and vision in life without God in our life, we are nothing and we can’t do everything. So, always put God first in every step that we take in our life because He can be our guide. He directs us on the right path.
