Nowadays, there are several outstanding players that are less talented in the game. They have become outstanding by practicing over and over to achieve what they have now. A famous example of a less talented footballer who is outstanding is Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a product of hard work and determination. Today he is considered by many as one of the greatest players in the world and the game as a whole. Another example of a less talented but outstanding player is Italian defender Chiellini. Chiellini is widely considered an old-fashioned defender because his methods of defending are old yet effective. What most people don’t know about the Italian defender is that he is less talented but he has used hard work and other skills which he has perfected over the years to supplement that area.
It is very important for a footballer to study and perfect skills and not rely only on talent because with years, talents and other natural abilities decline with age but with the help of other skills, the player will still be on top of his or her game. For example, a player that relies on his physicality such as speed alone will find it hard to cope as he or she ages because he or she will not be able to sprint as he or she did when young. But if such a player learns a skill like long-range passing, he or she would not have to sprint all around the pitch to deliver the balls to those areas but would rather cross the ball over there. This will help the player to conserve a lot of energy.

A talented footballer does some amazing moves subconsciously which may look extraordinary to normal players.
Strength/physicality: This is a very important quality that an outstanding player should possess. A player should at least possess an average amount of speed and strength to excel in the game. For example, most of the most outstanding strikers in the world such as Harry Kane, Dzeko, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, Karim Benzema, and Lewandoski are tall and usually very fast. This helps them to excel in their position by making them superior to their opposition in the air and quicker to receive an open ball.
Pace: A player with pace has an advantage over others. It makes it harder for the opposition team to mark him or her out of the game because he can quickly run out of the reach of the opposition markers.
Ball control: A player with good ball control is considered outstanding among other players. He or she can easily control the ball in any condition he or she finds himself in the game. With good ball control, it will be harder for the player to lose possession within the match. He or she can always make good use of the ball whenever the ball is with him or her.
Technical quality: One important quality that makes a player outstanding among other players is the technical advantage he or she has over other players in the game. A player with great technical quality can change the outcome of a match because he or she has analyzed the game and now knows what to do to better the result for his team. He or she tries to control the tempo of the game by using the skills which he or she possesses. He or she knows when to pass and who to pass to.
Goal-scoring ability: A player who has an eye for scoring goals is considered outstanding. It isn't every player that has the ability to score goals regularly. Goal scoring is an ability that only a few players have mastered and become great in it. Matches are won by outscoring your opponent and so, it is very important for a team to possess players with goal-scoring abilities.
Leadership quality: A player with leadership quality is regarded as an outstanding player because he or she can help to organize the team on and off the pitch.
