Living on the paradise Island of Bermuda was an awesome experience. Living in a foreign country was a different experience with socialism, the weather, and going to church. “Bermuda is a group of islands located in the North Atlantic Ocean, and it is a territory of the British government. Known for being among the best tourist destinations, Bermuda has also been subjected to wild conspiracy theories, some attempting to explain why planes got lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Traveling from Charleston, South Carolina to Bermuda was a 2-hour plane ride. Here are some facts about Bermuda. ”Bermudians are over-the-top friendly, Bermuda is a cluster of 138 islands located in the North Atlantic Ocean, and Rainwater is captured from the roofs of its buildings and is Bermuda’s only source of freshwater.”
I was neither happy nor afraid about moving there because making friends isn’t that hard and because I was leaving a lot of friends behind in America and it was the same way in Bermuda because I was leaving a lot of friends behind. Getting to know people were really easy in Bermuda because I did a lot of activities. The first activity I did was football. I made a lot of friends when I first played because I wasn’t really good at the time. The team I played was the Devonshire Colts and were not really a good team. We lost a lot of games, but I was happy because I was getting better at sports day by day. During the times when I had football games, it was mostly sunny, but then there were times when it was drizzling and then it turned into rain and wet the field too much so we couldn’t play. When the season was over I was so much better than I was when I played in America. The other activities I did were sailing, archery, tennis, nature walks, gymnastics, and sports day.

The weather in Bermuda was not bad because it was mostly clear. It does not really get cold in Bermuda during the winter, but the Bermudians think it's freezing and they put on jackets and sweaters. The Americans are used to the cold so we don’t feel any Breeze of winter in Bermuda. When winter passes it goes back to being burning outside again until hurricane season when hurricanes hit Bermuda. There was also the Bermuda triangle. ”The Bermuda Triangle is a mythical section of the Atlantic Ocean roughly bounded by Miami, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico where dozens of ships and airplanes have disappeared. Other boats and planes have seemingly vanished from the area in good weather without even radioing distress messages.”
Finding and going to a church wasn’t that hard because there were a lot of churches on the island. We went to a couple of churches and those churches just didn’t work out so we found this church called “Evangelical Church of Bermuda” and we’ve been going to that church ever since until we moved. I went camping, I attended amp and other church activities. My favorite memory of all the church events was when I got baptized. My experience of being baptized was good because I got to show other people my love for God and the fact that I gave my life to Him. it impacted me that my sisters were doing it too. We went to the pastor and told him that we wanted to get baptized and he asked me about my faith in the Lord and I said that I love him with all my heart. And he asked when we confessed to Jesus and I said that I did it when I was younger at VBS. My sisters also confessed when they were young too. And then he talked to my mom and he said that I was going to get baptized and I was excited. He said that I was getting baptized Sunday after next Sunday and there would be a party after church. I had to wear nice clothes and go to the party and a few minutes after I got there the pastor announced who was getting baptized and he went from youngest to oldest. My sister went before me then it was my turn. He ask me to tell the fact that I gave my life to Jesus and when and where. After that he baptized me. After the baptism, I went on with the party and it lasted a few hours. When he bent me in the water and pulled me up out I felt new like a creation made by God. I got a few photos and then got to swim. That was my experience of getting baptized in Bermuda. My favorite verse from the Bible is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son who shall believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” This is one of my favorites because it was the first verse I memorized and I have known it for most of my life.
Living in a foreign was a different experience. However, I got used to it because the people in Bermuda are really friendly and I would quickly make friends within one week. Finding the right church wasn’t really that hard because there were millions of churches in Bermuda and only one could be the right church for us. I believe that my family living in Bermuda affected the Bermudians because they got a chance to experience foreigners living in their country. I will forever remember the people I met and the time I spent in Bermuda and I am blessed that I got to go there.
