Last month, on earlier August of the 3 and the 4th there was two-mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. On August 5th in the press conference, President Donald Trump said “This includes the gruesome and grisly video games that are now commonplace. It is too easy today for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence” (Romano). After the press conference, video games became the spotlight in the media. That will make video games violence be the cause of the two-mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. Video games are not to be blame for real - word violence because of lack of evidences for video games to be the cause violent.
President Donald Trump keep blaming video games for the linked to violence. A politician name Dan Patrick who is the Lieutenant Governor of Texas have also agreed to the president and he have state by saying, “We've always had guns, always had evil, but I see a video game industry that teaches young people to kill”( Markman). Since after the mass-shooting happen, Walmart being to remove all video games violent but still advertise guns. Members of the public and other politicians have come to a disagreement to what the president have said on the press conference about blaming video games for the real-world violence. Many believe that the problem is the country needs a stronger gun control and there are no proof that link between video games and real-world violence. Gun control is a serious topic that the president and other politician wants to ignore the topic of gun control and put the blame on video games and have the conversation be on video games violence “Because of the sensitivity around the issue of gun control, it’s easy for politicians to score points with constituents by focusing a conversation on games and sidestepping other action. “Politicians often blame video games because they are a safe target” (Romano). As the frustration grows, the members of the gaming community are upset about the conversation of video games violence is the cause to the two-mass shooting and for leading to real-world violence. One of the members from the gaming community name Naomi Clark stated that “Even though it’s silly to say that ‘games cause violence,’ it’s also just as silly to say that games have nothing to do with a culture that has a violence problem” (Romano).

Psychological studies show that there was no sign that proof harmful effects on children for playing video games. Michael R. Ward and his colleagues investigate the issue and found that there are higher rates of violent games sales but it’s kind of seem that the violent crime has drop during times and that violent video games may actually help reduce crimes. Studies that only pointed out to the link between video games and aggression using different methods. The only choice was having to see the induvial who is given to play violent or nonviolent video games to show how aggressive the induvial was or how their behavior is measured out. According to the studies it was proven that video games do lead to aggressive behavior, but video games do increase the aggressive reaction, and the effects are small that it’s alright for the person to playing video games. Policymaker are serious about the issue and wants to start a developing program of violent behavior. The evidence does suggest that when an induvial is playing violent video games can make people act a little more aggressively, but they do not seem to be a big enough contributor to violent behavior in the real - world violence to be the cause of mass shootings. “The evidence suggests that we should look critically not at video games but at leaders who respond to the real-life horrors of shootings by criticizing make-believe violence” (Toppo). There are lacks evidence to say that video games violence is defiantly the cause to the two mass-shooting.
