Children are the future of this country. Children need a good learning environment to become successful young adults. A child begins their educational journey in elementary school. As a future elementary teacher, I want to be able to meet the needs of the children that I am entrusted with in my classroom. To be successful I need to make sure that my class is equipped with everything that my students will need to grow and that the classroom is accessible to each individual child. As a future educator I need to make sure there are no restrictions to my students from the learning process. It is my desire to create an atmosphere where my students will be able to grow and meet their full potential. I want to be able to provide a safe environment where my students are the primary focus. All children are unique, and every classroom will have its own unique community. One of the most important roles as a teacher will be to help assist my students in developing their own potential and their own unique learning styles. As a teacher I will need to incorporate hands-on learning, projects, and individual work that will engage my students learning abilities.
The role of a school in society has always been to educate. Schools can provide a major platform for enhancing a child’s welfare within the community. Schools will help mold and prepare the future generation for their roles in life. A child needs to grow to be an informed member of his/her society. The educational system plays a role in the socialization process of children. School is a place of social learning. Children will begin to learn the rules, regulations, and values of society through their education. The future generations will rely on the educational system for their placement in society.
One of the reasons I want to become an educator is due to my parents influence on how important an education is. From a very early age my parents instilled in me the importance of an education. I want the opportunity to instill in my students the significance of how important an education is. Education is the most important aspect of a person’s life. Education is what will shape my student’s perspective of life and will help create independent thinkers. Education will push my student’s forward with basic skills and knowledge of how to think for themselves. The foundation for my student’s future will be their education.
The philosophy of education is defined as the influences of what is taught and how the students will be taught. As a teacher I want to be able to enrich the minds of my students. I want to be able to show them why education is important at an early age. I want my students to understand that a good education is what will prepare them for their future. To do this I need to have activities centered around on what they see their future careers being. I want my students to be able to discover a sense of purpose in their learning by being able to ask questions that will lead them to think about their own interests.
The art of teaching has progressed over the years. Educators are realizing there are many different types of learning styles. As a teacher it will be my responsibility to accommodate all of these different learning styles in to my lesson plans. I will need to ensure that each student is able to receive information in the best possible way. I will need to recognize and incorporate many different teaching methods in my daily plans. I want to use new ideas in ways that students will be able to relate to and will be able to understand better. I want to be able to present daily learning material in ways that my students will be able to understand.
Teaching can be a multifaceted profession. My role as a teacher will be to counsel students and to help them learn how to use their knowledge to become members of society. I will play a vital role in shaping my student’s future. Being a teacher means I will become a role model, a mentor, and a counselor. I will need to be able to create a warm, happy environment in my classroom. I want to be a positive role model for my students. The classroom needs to have a positive environment to promote a healthy learning environment for my students. A teacher’s actions can be a reflection on their learning environment in the classroom. A negative environment is not conducive to productive learning. I want my students to feel safe in my classroom.
Mentoring students is another role of a teacher. Mentoring can be a positive way for a teacher to encourage students to do the best they can on their assignments. This means that I will need to encourage my students to enjoy learning. I will need to come up with ways to make the curriculum fun for the students to learn. I will need to take the time to listen to what my students have to say. If a student is struggling with a task, I need to be a good listener to help that student with his/her struggles. As a teacher I will need to learn to adapt my teaching methods to my student’s learning methods. It will be my job to challenge and inspire the students in my classroom. I was inspired by a few teachers in my educational journey and I want to be able to provide that same inspiration to my students.
My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun and to inspire my students to find a love for education. I want to make sure that my expectations are clear as a teacher and that my students know what to expect in my classroom. I want to be able to incorporate the best teaching strategies and to be fair to each of my students. I owe my passion to my students and my desire to help each of my students succeed in the classroom.
To be a good teacher I will need to adapt to my students individual learning styles. If I have twenty students in my class, I will need to understand that each one is their own individual and that their learning styles could be different. I will need to be able to adjust my curriculum to fit each student. Teachers need to use traditional and will learn innovative new ways to teach the students in their classroom. Each of my students can learn, it will be up to me to find out what educational methods will work best for each of my students. Once I learn my student’s individually it will be up to me to meet each of their individual learning needs.
I plan to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom every day. I hope to inspire and encourage each of my students in their daily lives. I want to maximize the positive benefits that come with being a teacher.
