I discovered Human Resources as a career path when I was 16 years old, at the time I was a GCSE business student which had a major part to play in leading me to my driving passion to study this course at University. A GCSE business module gave me one of my first opportunities to explore the significance of human resources and I grasped an understanding of how it is a tool that allows the corporate world to operate properly, given this new knowledge I was fascinated. The course I am currently studying is BTEC Level 3 Business Studies Extended Diploma. I chose the course due to my general interest in business and have had the opportunity to learn units such as Principles of Management, Business Decision Making and Training and Development, also to prepare me for higher education at University.
From the age of 14 it was evident that I had deep interest in business, in 2014 I established my own freelance make-up artistry business. This venture was discovered through one of my hobbies which was being creative, I expressed my creativity by doing makeup. I found it enjoyable and making income was a bonus and also rewarding for me. My business helped me to learn the practical process of running and starting a business. Providing a service to my clients, broadened my mind set in terms of correctly managing my own business, I can now apply these skills I have learnt in future business' or organisations. During managing my own business, I encountered the daily obstacles that any business or firm can experience. Such as dealing with customers' or clients' queries, issues and feedback. Eventually, I established the answers to frequently asked questions, began to use tactics to improve customer satisfaction and as a result I developed a loyal customer base.

From my own observations I believe that the structure of the business is the people, therefore I am keen to develop a career in Human Resources. The Human Resources industry will permit me to cater to the needs of those who work inside a business or organisation, I would like to be given the opportunity to monitor and make evaluations of employee's and organisation's performance to ensure the employer and employee is internally satisfied with their business or organisation. I strongly believe that a strength of mine is interacting with my peers, hence why this is my desired career.
I have hope that the Human Resources industry can improve the unemployment rate in the UK, and create many job opportunities in the future for our growing population. Human Resources is an important department within many organisations, Human Resources could provide me with many career opportunities in my future, this demand amplifies my passion for this course. Also being able to shape and develop the opportunities for the younger generations to be employed in the future, provides me with a sense of satisfaction and happiness. I know that a Human Resources degree will be of great value to me because I will then be one step closer to my dream career. I previously worked in the retail industry with role of customer assistant, this gave me my first personal experience interacting with the Human Resources department at Smyths Toys. I also adapted the skills of being a valuable team member, I ensured I always pulled my own weight to relieve my colleagues of potential stress or disappointment.
I strongly trust that University will provide me with an exceptional chance to develop my nowledge of Human Resources in greater depth, in hopes that I achieve employment with a well-recognised and respected business or organisation in the future. Most importantly I would be extremely grateful to have been given opportunity to study a course that I am interested in, as well as passionate about.
