The word Hijrah in the Quran is used for making people realize the sense of departure, abandonment or boycott. This generally means the idea of leaving something behind, which can be physical or mentally., of an existing unwanted state for something better. Keep in mind that hijirah was not meant to find a comfortable place to live in where people would relax. Instead, it was a search for a surrounding more favorable for Isam to grow in. Many muslim scholars at that time believed that hijrah was advisable, even from Islamic lands, if it meant escape from an environment of oppression, denial of freedom of conscience, an indulgence in sin. The people had to leave behind their homes, family, friends and belongings. To take a challenge of that kind was an act of faith the demanded strength. I can safely conclude that Hijrah played a huge role in the success of Islam around the world. I have discussed what hijrah is, why was there such massive importance for hijrah to take place, the spread of Islam because of hijrah, and the steps prophet took to make it a successful one.
