“As Men and Women, we should proceed as if the limits to our abilities do not exist. We are all accomplices in creation.” I came across this quote when I was in high school and it has been a perennial source of inspiration ever since.
I originate from a family that has always stressed Education to be the flagpole of growth. With a strong fascination for electronics and penchant for Mathematics and Science, I applied for my undergraduate studies, to the Electronics Engineering program at Multimedia University in Malaysia in November 2007. I chose to major in Telecommunications, as I felt passionate about the new technological advancements garnered by the industry. This resulting interest propelled me to excel academically. Throughout my degree course, I have pitched into various projects such as the ‘Design a Centralized Home Control System with Near Field Communications’; ‘Design and build prototype of Early Warning System’ . Ergo, these undertakings have helped shape my knowledge base and provided me with a practical perspective on my course work. I completed my undergraduate studies in February 2017 with a well-written thesis on the ‘Design and Build a Fractal Antenna for LTE System’.

During my high school I appeared for Cambridge International Examinations O’ levels and A’ levels through Al Hala International School and Al Wadi International School Jeddah, Saudi Arabia respectively. Apart from Academics, I have juggled varying roles in the extracurricular front and have been involved in various science projects and have shown outstanding performance in my high school. This has helped me become a more rounded individual. My interest in diverse cultures also led me to participate in the Cross Cultural Interchange Program held in my University in 2014 as the representative of my country Pakistan. This boost of confidence has propelled me to foray into various activities and was also chosen to be the face of International Students' Society Excellence Awards in 2014. Therefore, I believe that such unique roles and diversified projects have amplified not only my communicative and managerial skills but have also evolved me into a more creative individual lending me with an original outlook on life.
The last year of my degree course saw me do an internship with Cummins Inc. Olayan Energy Ltd., a leading multinational company that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products in Saudi Arabia, as an Associate Operations Engineer in the “Technology & Operations” department. The type of work and its surrounding are the most important motivators for me. I wanted to dedicate my work and time to meaningful and quality job which makes difference for our company and customers. My internship project also gave me the opportunity to work with several very experienced professionals as we worked to deliver the solution. During internship I was introduced to various departments of company however, main focus of coaching was to develop understanding for electrical & mechanical parts and processes of generators, results communication and their synchronization with customer’s power distribution systems. Task performed in second half of training period was to produce a partial Outage Capacity Report that can help in calculating outage factor and oil requirement prediction report for 350 hours running engine and its oil replacement amount. Lastly I was deployed at the COE yard to get hands on experience of Fuel Injector Servicing. It is thoroughly inspected for repairing, injector cleaning and crack checking. In the end, the project was delivered successfully and noted by my manager and university as being one of the best internship projects at the company that year.
