“The American Revolution was a beginning, not a consummation” - Woodrow Wilson. The American Revolution was revolutionary by definition because it was successful regarding political, economic, women's rights and freedom for African Americans. In fact, despite all of the obvious costs and excesses brought throughout this historical event, it also brought numerous benefits not just for citizens living in the United States, but for other people around the globe.
It is extremely difficult to shrink something as big and numerous as slavery into one topic. The kind of work a slave did vary depending on where they were located and who their masters were. Fieldwork consisted of planting, and tending tobacco, corn, cotton, tomatoes, sugar cane, etc. Inside work was mainly cooking, babysitting, cleaning, etc. It doesn’t seem as bad, but many people were injured and killed because even though they worked they were either not paid, barely given any money, treated poorly and even some females were raped, and so on. The emancipation of slaves would have been significantly delayed if it wasn’t for the American Revolution.

In the American colonies, it wasn’t common for women to pursue certain tasks that men already did. As many people know, it took a very long time for women to receive the same respect, rights, freedom, and power as men have had for eras. Even now, women struggle with this in their everyday lives, we aren’t viewed as the same in everybody's eyes yet. The American Revolution was one of the historical events that helped push women to succeed and strive for what they wanted most, equality.
The revolution helped by granting the 19th amendment, which was when women were allowed to vote for whomever they wanted in office or anything politically related, we had a voice, finally.
Although I only spoke on two specific topics in which the American Revolution had a significant outcome, I strongly believe that this was our breakthrough. I believe that the American Revolution was one of the most empowering events, no matter how difficult it was to get through all of the negative things that occurred during that century. This revolution has started everything, it started the ambition that many people seemed to one day find that they can now have, no matter the race, color of skin, what gender they prefer being called, we have grown as a union thanks to the American Revolution
