1.0 Identify the Scenario.

1.1 Zootopia.

Zootopia is an entertaining film that uses animation and stunts to provide a lesson on race, prejudice, segregation, bullying, and political corruption all thinly veiled in the world of cartoon animals. Absolutely more than what you'd expect from an animated film from Walt Disney Animation Studios is really good. “Zootopia” is a place where animals have jumped a few levels of evolution; they can walk upright, talk and even wear clothes. Besides, “Zootopia” is a movie that tells the story of a city in the modern civilized world where only vegetarian and carnivorous animals of different kinds live in peace.

For openers, let’s look at the most popular or attractive scene in Zootopia, the one mentioned most often by reviewers. The scene features sloth characters. Flash Sloth is a male three-toed sloth and a supporting character in Zootopia. He works at the Department of Motor Vehicles. Sloths are the world’s slowest moving animals and, as well as know too well, human DMV employees seem also to be the slowest moving animals on earth. Everyone who’s ever been to the DMV knows how agonizing an experience it is. It takes forever, and for those forced to wait for hours.

Move forward, Judy Hops, the hero rabbit of the main character in “Zootopia”. She wishes to grow up one day to be a police officer to help people. In this scene, she is trying to run a license plate number, and she is in a hurry. Her objective is to learn who owns the car, and her action is to ask the DMV clerk to check it for her. She has a conflict with her situation which is the clerk is a sloth. Judy's flow is quick because she is a rabbit. Flash the sloth repeats everything Judy says to him very slowly to finish his task and assuage the situation, a wrinkle is thrown in where he responds to a joke told by Nick.

Flash slowly spreads a smile at his slowness and gets a bigger laugh than what came before it. Then later tells his co-worker, Priscilla, after taking a while to react. The fox Nick Wilde has his own objective in this scene. To achieve his objective, he is purposely guiding Judy into frustrating and embarrassing situations which as telling the joke to Flash, hoping she will give up her pursuit.

1.2 Pretty Women

Based on “Pretty Women – Shopping scenes”, I identify that Vivian wanted to see the collection in the Rodeo Drive Boutique, but the workers originally refused to help her because she was dressed like a prostitute. The worker initially asked what they could help and Vivian answered she is finding something conservative to wear and praised the clothes in the boutique looked beautiful.

Then, Vivian asked about the price of that stuff. However, the employees gave an unpleasant answer. She said that Vivian was not fit for the stuff and could not afford to buy it because it was too expensive. Vivian said, she got money to spend in that boutique but the employee said they did not have anything for Vivian because she think that Vivian is just playing around and she also said that Vivian is obviously in the wrong place. The employee asked Vivian to leave the boutique and with frustration and anger feelings, Vivian left the boutique.

Next, the second time round, outfitted in a floppy hat and button-down white dress and her arm a bar on which a hundred bags have been hung she went back to the boutique. One of the workers asked what she can help, but Vivian said no she strides up to work that gave a bad service and ask her if she work for a commission or not. Then, the worker confirms it she does, and Vivian said that the workers have done a big mistake gloating in the face of the stunned clerk, alluding to the commission she could have made if only she’d agreed to help the first time around. Vivian left the boutique and said “I have to go shopping now” and the worker was shocked.

2.0 Comment on the communication of services given to customers.

2.1 Zootopia

Generally, there are two classifications of communication services which include remote transmission of voice, data, texts, sound, and images. They encompass landline telephony, mobile telephony, and other services such as management of private integrated networks, private mobile radio services, rental services, and videoconferencing. Referencing to given video, the service shown is the Department of Motor Vehicles.

A department of motor vehicles (DMV) is a state-level government agency that administers vehicle registration and driver licensing. Its main responsibilities involve vehicle ownership, driver's license, and so on. For the people who work in a such service-offering organization, it is very important to have good communication skills. Good communication is about understanding instructions, acquiring new skills, making requests, asking questions, and relaying information with ease.

In the Zootopia movie clip, it is pictured that the employees working at the department are working with the lowest effort possible, this is not something good for a company as it delays work and raises anger and impatient among customers. Moreover, delaying work is considered a bad work ethic.

A strong work ethic is an important part of being successful in a person's career. A work ethic is a set of values based on the ideals of discipline and hard work. Forming good habits such as focusing, staying motivated, finishing tasks immediately, and more helps to create a good work ethic that will impress employers.

2.2 Pretty Women

Based on that scenes, we can see there was a lot of direct verbal language telling her she was not welcome, watch the clip again and see what nonverbal signs were given by the retail workers. First, upon entering the store, the facial expressions of the workers were pure shock and judgment, how could someone wearing that attire walk into a high-end store? This is the worker shown in the video clips.

Next, the voice tone of the workers had a harsh, cold tone extremely unwelcoming the Vivian went she come to the boutique. The body language of the workers crossed arms, hands behind their backs, and looking Vivian up and down bad looking. It is clear they were not going to help her regardless of any money she had to spend.

Lastly, the nonverbal language in this clip helps elaborate the disdain of the retail workers and their disapproval of her. Nonverbal cues are extremely important in retail settings, they can make customers feel welcomed, comfortable, relaxed, or the complete opposite. Sometimes, making a sale can depend on how you welcome your customer with language other than your words.

3.0 Recommend solutions for the challenges in communication from the point of view of the services employers and employees.

3.1 Zootopia

As we stated above, the problem in the video clip is that the workers work with the lowest effort possible. This is not the ideal habit that employees should have. How do you make your employees productive? Here are several recommendations and solutions for these workers to overcome the problem. It’s vital in keeping your company going. First and foremost, improve employee skills with training.

It allows employees to strengthen their skills and improve their weaknesses. Doing this improves employee engagement. It gives the employees a greater understanding of their responsibilities and thus enhances the overall performance of the company. Plus, investment in training shows that they are valued. Moving on, look at the communication channel. Do your employees know exactly what to do? Here the managers need to play a role in delivering clear messages and expectations.

Managers need to make sure there are two-way communications here so that both parties understand and can then achieve targeted goals. There is no chance of increasing employees efficiently if they don’t know they’re being inefficient in the first place. Thus, the upper level needs to improve their feedback. They need to let their low-performing employees know that they have noticed the changes and would like to help by suggesting ways to improve their work productivity. Maybe they would like some guidance in their task. This is why performance reviews are essential.

Lastly, ensure employees are happy. Workers that constantly work under pressure are found to be less productive and have a higher level of absenteeism. If you want your employees to work longer for you, show them how they are valued, respected, and loved.

3.2 Pretty Women

Based on the problem of communication above, we can see there are many problems that we need to find a solution to before it gets worst. This is because, when we want to increase our revenue, we also need to master communication skills to attract customers. Sometimes, customers buy our staff not just because they have money, but because they are interested in our communication services.

Nonverbal communication is important in the workplace because it affects the work environment. In several respects, we can communicate as much, if not more, nonverbally than we do with our spoken words. What you communicate nonverbally can expose how you feel. If your nonverbal communication skills are poor, you may be communicating negativity and making your co-workers uncomfortable or undermining your message with cues about lacking confidence. To improve your nonverbal skills, you must first identify the areas where you are lacking.

First, as an employee, we need to ensure that our ethic as worker is perfect. For example, we need to greet our customers with friendly calls to them. We need to smile and give a good reaction to make them feel appreciated and interested to know the detail about our stuff. As workers, we need to give our best service and grooming as best as our product. Offer a smile when talking to someone, as long as it is not inappropriate to the situation. This tells people that you are happy or in a good mood. It also creates an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness, allowing others to feel comfortable.

Next, we need to control our voice and tone. Your tone or sounds can inform people of your anger, frustration, or sarcasm. Avoid sighing repetitively or speaking in a high-pitched voice. We need to speak politely in a gentle tone. In addition, all customer inquiries should be answered calmly and accurately in accordance with the customer inquiries. Besides, body language should also be appropriate and play a role in serving customers. Hands and body movements should be precise and neat.

Furthermore, there is no tendency to show a bad attitude towards customers, such as waistcoats, standing idly, sitting when customers come nearby, mocking customers, and body shaming them when they are trying on their clothes. Establish eye contact when speaking to others. When you make direct eye contact, it shows the other party that you’re interested in what he is saying. If you must give a presentation at work, establish eye contact with the audience. It tells them that you are confident in what you are presenting. Making direct eye contact provides others with the comfort needed to communicate with you in return. Be mindful, though, not to turn your attempts at eye contact into an unrelenting stare; moderation is the key.

4.0 Other matters concerning services communication of these videos.

4.1 Zootopia

The other matter concerning service communication in this video is, we have to choose the best and fastest people when doing a task. The sloths are slow in Zootopia, and presumably, if a sloth wanted to be really fast, it couldn't be. Hence, believing in a 'sloths are slow' stereotype would be accurate. Improve service efficiency. For example, in a seminar service at the counter. For example, we have to choose the best and fastest people when doing a task.

Besides that, as we see when a pig wants to take a picture. If this happens over and over again this will make the timeframe longer. Therefore, the service line should change to a faster and more efficient one. However, work gets done faster, and doesn't take long to complete a task

4.2 Pretty Women

The other matter that concerning service communication in this video is, we need to ensure that we provide the best communication services when interacting with customers. This is because we cannot judge the book by its cover. Even though the customer did not look rich or their attire is sloppy but we did not know about their life. From these videos, the employees have underestimated the customer by judging from their appearances. Pay attention to your proximity to others.

Different cultures view proximity in various ways, so take notice if the person you’re communicating with is uncomfortable. This could mean that you are standing too close, and should create some distance between the two of you. The amount of physical space given can convey many emotions. For example, a person who is behaving aggressively is probably standing very close to the other person. Be respectful of the personal space of others.
