For this assignment, there are three articles that need to be reviewed no matter what field it is. So, the first article that I chose is Effectiveness of Google Classroom as a Digital Tool in Teaching and Learning: Students’ Perceptions. This article is written by Iliyasu Hussaini, Sawida Ibrahim, Bashir Wali, Ibrahim Libata, and Usman Musa who are from the Faculty of Education, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero. The third article is Bangladeshi University Students’ Perception on Using Google Classroom for Teaching English that is written by Md. Sadequle Islam, M.A. Lecturer in English Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. This paper focuses on the participants who are using Google Classroom to learn English at the university level in Bangladesh which includes how the students think that this tool can help them to communicate, as well as develop and organize their work to learn English effectively and the researcher also tries to find out the challenges that the participants face specifically in using Google classroom to learn English.

Every research that has been conducted has its own objective and it depends on the researchers to have how many objectives in one article. This is important for the research paper to have an objective because it describes concisely what the research is trying to achieve. The same goes for the articles that have been chosen to review. The researchers have their own objectives that they want to achieve when they conduct the research. These three articles focus on the usage of Google Classroom while conducting the teaching and learning process, however with different objectives.

The first article has a few objectives which are very precise so that the reader will easily understand the aim of the research being held. It focuses on the effectiveness of the Google Classroom itself, the effectiveness of the knowledge and skills that the students gained through Google Classroom, how Google Classroom is able to provide meaningful feedback to the students and parents, and the last objective that the researchers stated is to know the limitation that the students faced while using the Google Classroom.

As for the second article, the researcher only focuses on the perception of the students when they use Google Classroom for language learning meanwhile the objective for the third article is to find out the prospects and the challenges faced by the students in using Google Classroom to learn English. Basically, these three articles focus on the perceptions of the students when they used Google Classroom as one of the mediums for them to learn no matter during this pandemic or not.

However, the differences between these three articles are that the first article has more complete objectives that cover all the processes while using Google Classroom and it eases the readers to understand the paper well. Next, only two articles focus on the challenges meanwhile the second article just focused on the student’s perception while using the Google Classroom itself.

In every article, the researchers need to have a methodology chapter in it. This is because, in the methodology chapter, the researchers will explain what they did and how they did it which will allow the readers to evaluate the reliability and validity of the research. It should include the type of research that they did for the article. Different articles used different terms to explain the methodology. The same goes for the articles that have been reviewed. The researchers used three different terms which are research methodology, research method, and methods of data analysis. However, these three terms are still referred to as the methodology.

Next, the researchers explained a little bit about the participants in the methodology section in which both papers used students in the university as their participants, however, for the third paper, the researcher only mentioned how they analyzed the data that they got from the participants and only in a short paragraph. In this section, the researcher also explained a bit about the problem that the participants faced while using Google Classroom.

, the next difference in these two articles is the researchers used the word ‘population’ to describe the participants that participated in the research meanwhile for the other article, it used the word ‘participant’ to explain about the participants. Even though they used different terms in the articles, they still referred to the same meaning. Next, articles two and three mentioned the method that they used to analyze the data which are the second article used the descriptive quantitative method and the third article used the narrative analysis method to analyze the data that they got based on the questionnaire that they distributed for the participants to answer meanwhile for the first article, the researchers not mentioned about the method that they used.

In article two, the researcher explained in detail the step of collecting the data and it is quite interesting that the researcher knew and already had the guidelines on what next that they needed to do next, In the other two articles, the researchers did not mention this. Articles one and two mentioned the sampling that they used. The first article used total population sampling and the second article used sampling purposive and for the third article, the researcher did not touch on the method used.

For the first article, 198 students of UGII Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero were involved in the study. All the students have been chosen because all of them were exposed to the integration of technology in teaching and learning using Google Classroom. Thus, the researchers feel that it is necessary to take the whole population as the sample of the study. The responses from the participants are presented in very detail in the table based on the questions asked accordingly. The findings of this study proved that Google Classroom increases the teaching and learning process.

For the second article, 310 students of 2016 in the fifth semester of the English Education Department at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar were involved in the study. The description of the data collected is based on the result of the student’s response to the acceptance of the easiness of Google Classroom and students' response to the performance of Google Classroom. Based on the findings, the use of Google Classroom and the students’ performances in using Google Classroom has a good response from students. Therefore, the result showed students agree with the use of Google Classroom in language learning, so Google Classroom can be used as one of the tools in language learning.

For the third article, there are 60 students from two departments of Daffodil International University who were involved in this research. The data found from the questionnaire have been analyzed using the basis of the Likert Scale. The answers, feedback, and problems of the participants are analyzed with the “narrative analysis” method. The purpose of this study is to identify the learners’ perceptions focused on the benefits and the challenges of using the technology-based Google Classroom implementation for learning English. However, the researcher also found that several challenges have been mentioned by the learners which is better to be addressed by both the teachers and the Google technical team.

There are some differences between these three articles. The first difference is the way they put the data. The first article used tables to explain the data that they got from the participants and used the SPSS to analyze the data. The second article used graphs and percentages in explaining the data that the researcher got meanwhile for the third article the researcher only put the percentages as the researcher already mentioned that the researcher would use a narrative analysis method. The other two articles did not mention what method of analysis that they used to explain the data.

Despite the differences that have been stated above, there are still similarities between these articles. The first similarities are these three articles focus on the use of Google Classroom. No matter where the place of this research has been conducted, the results will tell the readers about the usage of Google Classroom in the teaching and learning process. Next, in these three articles, the researchers used the same instrument to collect the data. In conclusion, even though these three articles are focused on the same field, there are still some differences in the way that the researcher used to analyze the data.
