I wake up to the bright beams of light shining in through the window of my bedroom and the birds talking to each other on the tall, bushy, green trees dancing in the soft breeze. As I jump out of bed, I realize it is my 10th birthday and I need to get ready, fast, as fast as a cheetah.
Knock! Knock! Knock! I run to the tall, wooden door to welcome my friends, Ellie, James, Lucy, and her brother Aiden to my Treetop party. They walk in with presents the colors of the rainbow wrapped with silk bows in their arms. After putting the presents down, we all make our way to the car.

We were stuck in the car for hours, the only thing that kept us entertained was dreaming of all the fun we'll have tree climbing, going down the zip lines, and much more fun.
As we finally arrive, we jump out of the car excitedly to see a big green canopy above us. “We are here”, we all say.
Looking at all the courses, we decided to start with the easiest course to later make our way to the harder courses. After getting safely strapped on with a harness, we all walk up to the first obstacle course, ready to start climbing. Up we go, higher and higher, so high I can nearly touch the clouds, getting past every obstacle until Lucy stops climbing. “Grace, I want to get down”, Lucy says shaking with fear. I yell out to a Treetop worker that came up to get her down, while the rest of us finish the course. After going down the long zip line, we are finished. We meet with my mum, my dad, and Lucy, and all head to the maze. My mum and dad relax while we explore and run around the big, green hedges.
Exhausted, we slowly walked over to the picnic rug and sit down. My parents get out the cake as my friends start to sing 'Happy Birthday'. As I start to cut the creamy rainbow cake, I spot a rainbow. This really is the best birthday ever!
After all the singing, we see a woman walking up to us and asking: “Are you missing a child?”. Looking around, my mum realizes that Aiden isn’t with us. “Oh No!”, Mom says. Next to the lady is Aiden, Lucy’s brother. We all froze in shock, registering what had just happened. “Thank you”, my mum said in relief to the woman as she headed off.
After a normal rest of the day, we drop off Ellie and James at their houses and eventually arrive home.
As we reach the house, Lucy runs up to her mum, Renee, and tells her how we lost Aiden, but luckily she didn’t get angry.
Later that day, Lucy, Aiden, and Rose helped me unwrap all my wonderful presents. The wrapping paper covers the floor, making a big mess. “If you’re going to unwrap your presents, you need to clean up after yourself”, my mum says walking past. This was one of the best birthdays ever, even though Lucy was scared of heights, and Aiden got lost, it was still the best birthday ever!
