The Ice Age is an animated example of how our ecosystem is affected by global warming. The movie shows us how these extinct animals migrate to a safe new place to live. Manny the mammoth, Sid who is a sloth and Diego the tiger live in a cold valley where tall walls of ice surround them they begin to realize its melting and eventually will create a dam of water which will cause a huge flood. They decide to leave their melting home and find the valley where will be a much more safer place for them to live.
Along the way they run into a few obstacles, as the ice melts the 3 of them encounter two threatening sea creatures. Manny has to fight them off and they end up leaving. They also meet another mammoth named Ellie and with her are two possums she claims are her siblings. Meeting Ellie was a huge relief and shock to Manny he thought he was the only specie of mammoth left. As they are traveling Ellie falls and gets taken away by a flood where she gets trapped by rocks underwater, Manny of course saves her from the near death experience and once she returns on land. A squirrel named Scrat who is greatly obsessed with his acorn , sticks his valuable acorn in the glacier which creates a crack that divides the flood and valley apart. This safes the animals allows them to stay in the new valley. Once they realize they are perfectly fine . Manny and Ellie notice a herd of large mammoths walking in the distance , this discovery proves that mammoths are extinct as they thought they were. But both Manny and Ellie decide to stay with their own group and continue being together.
The movie introduces the topic of global warming to show how much of an impact thinning the earth's crust had on our extinct animals, even until this day. When the animals had to travel and find a new home it shows migration. The ice melting and forms breaks in the ice walls represents global warming and the way the weather climate changes .
This following movie is bad science because it shows how terribly global warming is and the effects it has on animals and the environment. An article over the causes and consequences of the ice melting and floods occuring , ice age explains and gives you a visual over how animals have to change and find new ways to survive which include having to move to a brand to environment and traveling a far distance. This movie shows bad science because animals do die along the way. The animals can also get separated from their herd , family and friends . Climate change is something pretty devastating , think about it … the lives it ruins , the health and others around our world , from humans to animals . Several articles that have been found do prove that global warming is a horrible thing that occurs in our planet.
This movie is an enjoyable movie it really does give you an imagine of how much air pollution thins our earth's crust and creates much more heat which melts all the ice and creates drastic changes and begins to affect us. I would highly recommend young children especially to watch this informational and enjoyable movie because it's pretty funny and pours out good information as well. Ice Age will really allow kids to understand more about environment and show them that animals don't have it easy, it's something you definitely need to learn about.
