Climate change is here, and with it has come larger changes to the planet than what many scientists have predicted previously. Climate change has evolved to great extents from where it had started to spike between the 18th and 19th centuries. Still, the rates have not chilled, going over the charts results in the red zone of irreversibility. But it hasn't stopped there. Climate change isn't only temperature changes to the climate but also affects the ecological surroundings of our national animals.
Even though historically we don't hold the main responsibility for the state of the climate today, we still have a responsibility to prevent irreversible climate changes.
Earth's temperatures are dependent on the balance between energy entering and leaving the atmosphere. However, when climate change occurs it causes the temperatures to rise and changes the statistical attributes of the climate system from its normal state.
Scientists are confident that the global temperature will continue for generations to come largely due to greenhouse gasses that are produced by human activities such as industrial pollution and fossil burning. In these operations, carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide are emitted into the air, where it gets trapped and causes an effect to occur that warms the planet; the greenhouse effect.
Climate change is getting worse to the point of irreversibility. Climate change has evolved to great extents from where it had started to spike in the 19th century. Still, the rates have not chilled, going over the charts results in the red zone of irreversibility.
Our society is likely to build inefficient buildings, fossil-fueled power stations, and factories, and in the next 10 years, it will be impossible for the climate's temperatures to remain at safe levels. Future carbon emissions in the 21st century will lead to adverse long-term and short-term climate changes that will essentially become irreversible.
The intergovernmental panel on climate change said, ' it is extremely likely increased atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases since the mid-20th century is the main reason it is getting hotter.' However, changes are not easy. If global changes were to occur, and greenhouse gas emissions stopped today, climate change would still happen for many more decades. This is because of the amount of carbon dioxide we have already emitted decades ago that still would linger in the atmosphere for hundreds of years.
Adoption of more sustainable practices is an absolute must and we are the last generation that can prevent irreversible damage to our climate. But it hasn't stopped there. Climate change isn't only temperature changes to the climate but also affects the ecological surroundings of our national animals.
With Climate change getting evidently worse, the chances ecosystems quickly adapt naturally to changing environments are massively reduced. Moving also becomes inaccessible when many ecological areas are destroyed. Most of these destructions are caused by Australia’s bushfires. Which was more or less caused by climate change.
In Australia, due to climate change, the conditions are getting progressively hotter, producing a lack of rainfall which creates more dry fuel for fires and lengthens the bushfire season.
Climate change influenced the severity of Australia's wildfires last year, and experts said the likelihood had escalated by 30 percent. The bushfires were exacerbated by heat and dryland conditions, all leading factors intensified by climate change.
Climate change is real and if we don't change immediately, this will impact our futures, and many generations to come. With the last chance to change climate change, we can truly change the damage done to our planet to prevent it from being irreversible.
