Bullying is one of the stages in life that most children will sadly go through. Every school should raise money for bullying awareness in schools and develop awareness programs that can help prevent children from the mental, emotional, and physical effects of bullying. Bullying affected so many children's lives some people believe that bullying is a good thing and is a part of life. Other people believe that bullying can have a negative effect on children’s life. There are other effective ways to build a child's character and bullying has far more negative effects than positive. A child will go through mental, emotional, and physical effects while being bullied.

The mental effect that a child will go through with bullying is name-calling, teasing, and gossip. According to the website “Stop Bullying”, it says, “Bullying is linked to many negative outcomes including impacts on mental health, substance use, and suicide” (Stop Bullying, 2017, para. 1). With various types of bullying like being, called names can cause psychological damage to a child and may lead them to a more serious issue later down in his or her life. Studies have shown with bullying a child can become withdrawn, depressed, anxious, insecure, and shy. Most children are very vulnerable, and their minds are still in the developmental state at a young age and part of growing up means overcoming obstacles along the way. Mental behaviors can also deal with the mind due to the impact of behavioral changes brought by a child's emotions.

The emotional effect that a child will go through with bullying is loneliness, feeling isolated, and avoiding school. Some bullying might not affect a child physically, but it can hurt him or her emotionally. Bullies build on their lack of confidence in themselves and insult the different qualities of children to make them feel better or to just get a laugh out of it. No child likes the way insults make them feel, and this is one of the reasons that schools should develop bullying awareness programs. Emotions play a big role in a person; it deals with a person’s heart. Bullies do not understand the effects of the emotions behind the emotional toll they may cause on other children, some bullies do not care, and other bullies could feel and think that it is normal because they could be being bullied at home themselves. The emotional effects of bullying can cause a child to feel like they have little to no power to stand up for themselves. If a child cannot stand up for himself or herself to the bully, then an adult need to be told.

The physical effect that a child will go through with bullying is when a bully is using his or her physical force to hurt a child either by pushing, hitting, kicking, or pinning them down. Some examples of physical bullying are taking a kid’s lunch money, breaking their personal things, or physically assaulting him or her. According to the website “Archive Disease of Childhood” it says, “Bullying can also mean the systematic abuse of power by the bully” (Archive Disease of Childhood, 2018, para.1). Children having to face and deal with physical abuse for a child can be deemed to be entirely too much. Bullies take it upon themselves to bring down others and continue to hurt them, which does not give them any justice for what they do but it’s done, nonetheless. No matter what people think or feel about bullying, bullying should never be allowed; it creates a very harsh environment.
