What are human experiences? Well, people have different definitions of what a human experience is. In my opinion, a human experience is when someone does something that could be good as it could be bad, and by doing something they can learn if they should do it again or if it was a bad idea and not to repeat it again. A human experience also includes mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical characteristics of human life. The two texts that will be discussed today are The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Fight Song by Rachel Platten. Both of these show grief, sadness, and fighting.
What is The Fault in Our Stars about? This text is about a teenage girl who has discovered that she has lung cancer and goes to a cancer group. While attending the cancer group she meets a teenage boy named Augustus Waters and from there, their adventure begins. In their relationship, they have a roller coaster full of emotions like love, sadness, and romance. They both go on a journey to Amsterdam to search for their favorite author from their favorite book. While in Amsterdam Augustus tells Hazel some bad news and from there their worlds are separated. The other text is about fighting for who you really are. It also tells us to remove all of the negativity in our head to just focus on positivity and live a good life. This song makes people feel motivated to keep going no matter what to always believe in ourselves and to never give up.

How do these two texts show human experiences? The human experience that is in The Fault in Our Stars is in the last scene of the movie where Hazel experiences the loss of her boyfriend who has passed away because of cancer. This human experience can relate to almost everyone because they must have lost someone close to them. It doesn’t necessarily have to be because of cancer. By this human experience, Hazel is saying even though you have lost a loved one you still need to get along in your life and that everything happens for a reason.
The way that human experience is developed in the last scene of The Fault in Our Stars is that almost everyone suffers through the loss of their loved one. Including that, it is hard if you are close to them. And this is what Hazel experienced. When she was in her car she read a note that Augustus gave her. While she was reading the note she remembered all of the fun that she had with him. In the film The Fault in Our Stars, the directors use a lot of camera angles like extreme close-ups to see the facial features of the person. Bird-eye view to see the whole view from the top. Mid shot to see the actions of what the person is doing. And there are many other angles that are used throughout the last scene.
