“When willpower becomes Automatic”. Still remember in the movie, infernal affairs 3, one of the main characters always said, “only things will change people”. The rough of life experienced and tribulations suffered by a person have a great impact on this person. Some people may choose to escape or deprave. However, some people will to be strong and face it. For me, I will choose the second one.

Fyodor Dostoevsky said, 'There is only one thing that I dread: not to be worthy of my sufferings.' There is always a bad time and a low period of life for everyone in their life. There are many ways to face these things, such as letting nature take its course, fallen by the problem, be numb to the problem. Of course, some people bravely face and try to change. There is a term in psychology for this people, “people who have a high self-esteem mental state”. In “The Ego And The Id”, Sigmund Freud thinks it is Superego beyond the Id. In “Think, Fast and Slow”, Kahneman thinks it is human rational system two controls the perceptual system one. However, in Principles: life and work, Dalio thinks it is advanced-self conquers the low-self.

Three years ago, fitness was the first habit I tried to implant myself. Faced with my 'Bean Sprout' body type, and the treadmill that has not been used 50 times in 2 years, I decided to start fitness. No pain with gaining, but fitness always doesn’t disappoint you. The beginning is, of course, difficult, and perseverance is even more difficult. But I want myself to be better. So, I cheered on myself, forced myself to persist, give myself a staged 'reward', and read a lot of positive energy words and movies. Soon, this habit was implanted in everyday life, and at the same time, seeing the self in the mirror began to change, this sense of well-being and accomplishment is wonderful. Soon, this habit was implanted in everyday life. At the same time, through the mirror, I saw that my body began to change. This sense of well-being and accomplishment is wonderful. I told myself: 'If I cannot keep my face young forever, then I will keep my body the best.'

In the book, the author mentions that Oaten and Cheng did one more experiment. They enrolled forty-five students in an academic improvement program that focused on creating study habits. Predictably, participants’ learning skills improved. And the students also smoked less, drank less, watched less television, exercised more, and ate healthier, even though all those things were never mentioned in the academic program. Again, as their willpower muscles strengthened, good habits seemed to spill over into other parts of their lives.

They respected this as “Small wins”. Small wins are exactly what they sound like, and are part of how keystone habits create widespread changes. A huge body of research has shown that small wins have enormous power, an influence disproportionate to the accomplishments of the victories themselves. “Small wins are a steady application of a small advantage,” one Cornell professor wrote in 1984. “Once a small win has been accomplished, forces are set in motion that favor another small win. “Small wins fuel transformative changes by leveraging tiny advantages into patterns that convince people that bigger.

In layman's terms, once you use the 'willpower' to taste the sweetness, you will be 'addicted', just like obsessing the ring in 'The Lord of the Rings', you will be obsessed with its enormous power, and excitedly expect to make the next attempt.

Fitness and reading are the cheapest and effective way to improve yourself. In this world, only the body and knowledge will always follow yourself, and nobody can take away. In this way, I try to acquire knowledge by willpower.

On the one hand, I like and am interested in the United States. I decide to study abroad in the United stated. So, I need to prepare for the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL), SAT and advanced placement (AP). At that time, I hadn't recited words and books for almost a year or two. With the guidance of interest, I quickly passed the TOEFL test and SAT and got good results. I took psychology in school and learned a lot about AP psychology. In the end, due to time problems, I did not sign up for AP psychology but signed up for AP calculus. 'Psychology' is a very broad and general science that not only helps others but also controls oneself. 'Psychology' is a very broad and general science that not only helps others but also controls oneself. Psychology believes that: People think they are familiar with themselves, but in reality, each of us rides on an elephant who does not listen to the it-this elephant is called 'subconscious”. The 'habit' discussed in this book is a form of 'subconscious'.

On the other hand, I haven’t read a complete book since childhood. I suddenly felt that I needed to read some books to improve myself. In this way, I decide to read a book a week and write a short review and show it on social media. Also, I told my parents and my best friends my thought. This is a typical application of many psychological effects. First, the formation of a planning mechanism will make reading arrangements to form clear goals. This is a very important part of habit formation-refinement, concreteness, and standardization. Second, the formation of feedback mechanisms. Most of the time when I read a book, there are no more things to do with the book after reading it. There is no feedback on the book from its cognitive perspective, and feedback to share and communicate with others. We, humans, are inherently tired of things without 'feedback'. For example, if you don’t have feedback on pay and sense of accomplishment at work, you don’t get feedback on your child’s growing up, and you don’t get feedback on eating and fullness, what a pain to write. Social media is a 'feedback loop' that I designed to cultivate habits; The third is the formation of a supervision mechanism. People are face-saving which called 'social evaluation' in psychology. After making a statement, one has to face two attitudes of encouragement and ridicule from friends. The positive and negative poles bring the same effect, which stimulates oneself to fulfill his promise and persistently accomplish his goal. The formation of habits is the reward of this process. Therefore, I put myself at the bottom and let everyone 'supervise' my 'willpower'. Fitness is a physical power; reading is a cognitive power; artistic enjoyment is a spiritual power.

A year later, I read a lot of books. At that moment I want to use my 'willpower' in another field, art appreciation. I asked myself to share a “perspective art” and an “auditory art” once a week. It is different from reading because the habit of understanding and appreciating works of art has been developed by me before. The reason for sharing one is to hope that sharing your happiness is much better than enjoying your happiness on your own. The second is to use this 'secondary retelling' method to achieve the purpose of deepening the impression, to effectively 'knowledge connection'. At the same time, in the process of selecting works, it did capture a lot of fun.

High art often discourages people today. People always feel too advanced to understand. The audience of these works of art was far less than most of us today, both in terms of knowledge culture and level of knowledge. And the universal values and aesthetics are not much different from today. It is not very difficult to understand. If you can experience the mystery of art through short learning, then develop the habit of appreciation. You will have one more world than others, a vibrant, beautiful and happy spiritual world. You will become a person with outstanding spiritual power.

What is a habit? The habit is a canine animal. If you cultivate it carefully, it will become the most faithful hunting dog of the people and accompany and protect you for life. If you let it grow, it will become a ferocious wolf and take your life away.

Today, many people do not hesitate to spend a lot of money or even borrow money to buy something that they consider important. But it is difficult to decide to change a bad habit and develop a good habit that will benefit and accompany life for some time and willpower. People need to make their lives full and rich, constantly improve themselves and grow day by day, so that they are not afraid of the passage of time.
