India is rich in historical places of incredible beauty and fascinating history, which every year attract tourists from all corners of our planet. However, there are also several places whose history has never become known to people. It is about them that will be discussed in this essay.

Kumbhalgarh Fort will be the first. Located in Rajasthan, Kumbhalgarh Fort is popular for its royal treatment and culture. It stands for its reputation to date. This fort was constructed by Maharana Kumbha. This was constructed in the 15th century with very attractive architecture. And now it's under UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fort architecture was designed by Mandan between the eleven peaks of the Aravali range. The strategies involved in constructing the fort are very unique and made it different and also beautiful from others at the same time. This fort never saw a battle, but once was captured by the Mughals by poisoning the water supply of the fort. This fort is very important for Rajput mainly because of being the birthplace of the legendary Maharana Pratap.

Basgo Leh is also known as a monastery that was built by Namgyal rulers in the year 1680 at the banks of the Indus River in Ladakh. It is known for its Buddha statue and murals. This tends to be a very important cultural spot for the place. This place consists of three temples named as Chamba Maitreya, Maitreya Serzang, and Cham Chung temples. All three temples are about Maitreya, one has Maitreya’s image done with clay, the second one has a copper-built image of Maitreya, and the third one has been converted from a mosque to Maitreya who is a bodhisattva who might appear in the future in front of humans. This is also a very good spot for sightseeing, picnicking, and also for photography. This is situated in the west of Leh about 42 km.

In Jageshwar, there is the 'Temple City of India'. It consists of 124 temples. These temples are all dedicated to Lord Shiva. A few of them are from the 9th century too. The architecture of the temples and also the other sculptures are very beautiful. Few of them you can find from the 4th century too. Mountain features and the Himalayan forest can also be seen there. Those who are very interested in history and ancient culture should visit this place as it gives excellent knowledge regarding these. Due to the fact that it is very far from the busy city and surrounded by dense forest, it is a very quiet place. This makes it the best place for meditation and camping.

And the last place will be the Cellular Jail. The Cellular Jail has also another name which is Kala Pani which means black water which indicates death. It was built in the year 1896 by the British in India. It took ten years for completing the construction, so the usage started in the year 1906. This place was constructed far away from the city of Andaman and Nicobar. British used to put the freedom fighters in this prison and imposed great punishments though. During the first freedom fight, the British won and executed many, and sent the remaining to this jail. Many raised against the British got into this jail because of it. As this place is very far from the city, it was difficult to escape from the jail. British used to capture many freedom fighters over here and used them for construction and all. Now it’s a tourist place for people to get knowledge regarding the jail.

These are the few places that have their own history mostly people are unknown about.
