Constraints/Challenges

I couldn’t have asked for a better internship experience. Working on M.J. Papers helped me to explore real job life and how Corporate HR operates. This has been by far the most interesting and cherished worthy experience of my life.

Identified/Observed in the Organization

This internship has provided me with a wonderful opportunity to acquire practical knowledge, communication skills, negotiation skills, and technical skills. Though it may take some time to polish those skills, at this moment I am confident I to improve them in the future.

First I face some difficulties to match up with the corporate environment and punctuality. But with the dedication of my spirit, I overcome this.

During my internship, I have learned how to write a business letter, how deal with business persons, convincing buyers & sellers. It is difficult to handle so many works in a short span of time. In the beginning, I felt difficulties. But with time and effort now I can compare which solution is suitable for which type of problem. Every tool has some good sides and some drawbacks. We need to choose according to our preferences.

Academic Preparation

In my academics, I have completed several business case studies successfully. But the real-world metaphor is quite different from those scenarios. I obviously have to mention that our honorable faculties have taught us that well based on that we can adapt to any kind of situation. Our academic knowledge mainly helped me to adapt to the situation. In times of case study work I have learned so many new things by myself and obviously from the team.

In my academic program at the university, I have learned the lessons as per the course curriculum. In my university program, there are some courses which were Organizational Behavior, Financial Management, Financial Institutions and Markets, and so on. And from these courses, I can relate some of the things to my internship program.

Personal/Professional

No one can learn professional skills in an academy. When I first started my work, I had no professional skills. I had to face many problems with how to do the work professionally. But the day passes by and I gathered skills and was able to perform the task smoothly. I faced a lot of challenges because of the new environment. But in the end by the grace of Allah, I made it. I must have to mention that our seniors helped a lot in this.

The official time was from 9 AM to 6 PM. My working day was Saturday to Thursday. Everyone has to be very disciplined about time whether it was the question of work completion or starting time or lunchtime. This thing will surely help me in the future.

Lessons learned

When I started my internship at M.J. Papers I was totally new to the environment. But I was enthusiastic to learn about new things. As a fresher, I felt challenges in how this huge chain of client & customer communication is maintained and kept all documentation updated. But day by day I was habituated and felt self-confident. Therefore, it was hard and challenging for me to adapt to this daily routine. Although it is always difficult and challenging to learn new things I think that, I was able to cope with those challenges.

Competencies acquired from the organization

From the learning and experiencing point of view, I can say that I really enjoyed my internship period. From the very first day, I am confident that these 3 months internship program will definitely help me to realize my further career in the job market. All is not so sufficient to measure and express perfectly within this short time of my internship period. But it is a great opportunity for me to get used to real-world job life. I have tried my soul to incorporate the necessary relevant information in my report. During the period of internship, I have tried to learn the art of learning and deliver the knowledge that I have gathered.

My first exposure to professional life through internship has benefited me mostly in strengthening my personal skills. I have developed a positive attitude, and a strong sense of responsibility, being innovative, resourceful, open, and responsive to changes. It has created in me an interest in lifelong learning. M.J. Papers place was very new to me and I have learned different aspects of professionalism from my work experience, greeting clients cordially, smiling, and behaving myself even when I am annoyed or upset.

An individual must know how to behave in the workplace. There is a huge difference between university life and professional life. Everyone should be disciplined in the workplace. There are so many do’s and don’ts at the workplace. This experience is helping me to learn those manners that I can implement in my future career.

Competencies acquired from the University’s internship Program

I would like to express my gratitude to the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) to keep internship credit in the curriculum of the graduation program and give me a scope of tasting the flavor of industry-oriented tasks and the field of work with my interest. I am also grateful to the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) & Office of Placement & Alumni, AIUB to arrange an opportunity for choosing my own interested organization and completing an internship there.

During my academic learning, I learn how to make presentations, lead and manage teams and cooperate with team members, apply research skills, and some knowledge about the software. During our academic program, we get some basic knowledge about this software. So that’s the academic lessons an intern can use in his professional life.

Taking responsibility is another vital lesson that I learned that all liability goes to one person and that person is responsible for that job. So, in my internship program, I learned how to perform my duty with proper responsibility. And it was very much challenging because any fault makes me accept the penalty.

Changes can make humans either immortal or ordinary. In my case, there occurred a radical change in me too. Somehow, I have the power of learning to work exceptionally well. The initiative is one of the most important characteristics. In a company, everybody works in a group, and in each group, every person has his own responsibilities. There is no culture to push anybody to do his or her responsibilities. M.J. Papers is like a family. Whenever I have done any work, I tried to do it with my full efforts. When I faced any problem, I tried to solve them myself and proceed well on my own. I hope that this sort of attitude of mine will help me in the end.
