Mission STS-51-L, Challenger (OV-099) on 28 January 1986, the space shuttle Columbia the first space exploring disaster which causes the death of 7 astronauts, is the death of the astronauts worth it? Many people around the world are sacrificing themselves in order to explore space. Most people are looking at the sky above and start wondering what is behind it while their earth is literally calling for help, is there anything special about space that could overwhelm people about the truth. Therefore people have different motives with regard to space exploration ,Some of them are supporters while others are opposed and everyone has a different perspective .

Space was always the dream that seems impossible to achieve especially in the past were people used to guide the stars to their destination, they always dreamed of discovering this mysterious mystery in relation to the successor of this limitation system that we live on into an unknown world that is extremely different. According to NASA (2013), they believe that “the interest of humanity in the heavens was universal and enduring. People are driven to explore the unknown, to discover new worlds, to push the boundaries of our scientific and technical limitations, and then to push forward. The intangible desire to explore and challenge the boundaries of what we know and where we have been for centuries has brought benefits to our society”.

If you think about it you will realize that it does make sense because human nature is usually greedy and they keep wanting more, they tend to achieve something out of reach and they will do anything in their power to reach it including sacrificing themselves and other people .the sacrifice could divide into two branches or type physical and mental harm, to begin with, the mental harm is the first possible risk of hallucinations which may lead to losing control of the space shuttle or worst the loss of consciousness which would cost their death. Vaughan Bell (2014) mentions that “For mission control, the wonder of space must seem like something of a distraction as they focus on the psychological health of their astronauts working in a high-pressure, high-risk environment, 420km (260 miles) above the Earth’s surface. These day-to-day stresses can be equally as life-changing and Nasa considers behavioral and psychiatric conditions to be one of the most significant risks to the integrity of the mission – not least as there is no significant evidence that space travel has mind-altering effects.”

When it comes to sacrifice the first thing that pops to people heads is the physical harm and ignoring the mane scapegoat which is their mental health that will affect astronauts' and their achievements. While the second harm is often shown on the astronaut psychic which is known as ( depression ) during the launch mission many astronauts go through that stage because usually, they fell that they are going to an unknown world that is ambiguity and full with risk and no way back. Most expectation of different children, teenager and adult is to be an astronaut but not all of them could achieve it in order to become an astronaut there are several requirements that need to be accomplished, such as having a healthy diet and lifestyle, an outstanding that is above 62-75 inch, healthy body and shape, and the most important one is having a vision that is 20/20 these many requirements negatively affect humans and break their dreams to become illusions.

On the other hand, physical harm is considered a long term effect on humans body that shows over time and causes a huge impact on the person, such as Flaccidity in the skin due to poor gravity and pressure, and the most powerful reason that causes the Flaccidity is that astronauts are entering an extremely different environment from which they used to, in addition to the stage of penetration the atmosphere. Furthermore, There are a lot of consequences that astronauts should be wary of which may lead to their death, For instance, the lack of oxygen in astronaut's suit, may lead to a catastrophe and kill cells that will not be renewed, such as brain cells, which will adversely affect his health over time also the possibility of unwrapping the helmet by accident will lead to explosion his body into pieces and inevitable death.

Although the sacrifices made despite the hardships must be remembered far away from the negatives and consequences there are astronauts who sacrificed their lives for the sake of science and the uplift of their Country, left behind their world to discover another world that is out of imagination. Hazza Al-Mansouri is the first Emirati astronaut whose sacrifice his self to uplift the United Arab Emirate, as mentions in the U.A.E media (2019) “ But with no Emirati space programme at that time, he settled for taking to the skies as a pilot. After studying aviation at university, Hazzaa joined the armed forces and worked as military a pilot, flying F-16 fighter jets. It was not until years later that he realized his dreams of space travel could become a reality” with knowing that there is no way back and he might not see his family again he decided too through that behind him back in order to achieve his goal and dream.
