Beowulf is an epic poem on good vs evil, and good will always eventually overcome evil. The poem Beowulf is told by the Anglo-Saxons on the grim tales of life ruled by fate. This poem tells tales in which the people struggled against monsters for their peace and place in the world. The story is based on a strong and brave monster that is basically like a hometown hero. Beowulf is the superior hero in this story he is a very evil monster but mainly the good take over all the evil thoughts and selfish ways.

Beowulf is based on good vs evil and when things hit reality the good will always win. According to the text “ Ended the grief, the sorrow, the suffering forced on Hrothgar's helpless people by a bloodthirsty friend no Dane doubted the victory, for the proof, hanging high from the rafters where Beowulf had hung it, was the monsters arm, claw, shoulder and all” (405-410). All of the sufferings that were brought upon and forced on Hrothgar's helpless people were all over with. No one thought otherwise about the victory over the bloodthirsty and evil monster and to settle it all there was proof. Beowulf ended their grief and fought to the end and came out on top with a win. He wanted the people of his town to know that he was the reason that the death had happened. He showcased it by hanging the enemy's arms, claws, and shoulders by a rafter. The suffering took place before the hero came about but now all is well and Beowulf is going to meet a woman that’s very close to Grendel. That very special woman that Beowulf is going to meet is Grendel's Mother and she is just like Grendel.

Grendel is the son of this lady and Beowulf the outstanding neighborhood hero finally meets her. The following text says “ Of her wet world, she welcomed him in her claws, clutched at him savagely but could not harm him she tried to work her fingers through the tight ring-woven mail on his breast, but tore and scratched in vain then she carried him, armor, sword and all to her home” (475- 480). Grendel's mother meets the evil monster, Beowulf. Mother Grendel had a very savage and hurtful vibe, but she never hurt him. Beowulf and Mother Grendel was fighting she had him pinned down on the ground and almost killed him, but Beowulf come out on top with a win like always and that’s what he wanted for his town anyway. He did end up killing her and finding Grendel and finishing him off. Beowulf takes a piece of Grendel and Grendel's Mother Back to the Danes to show them that he has defeated them both.

Beowulf is his town's hero and they look to him to end all the sorrow and suffering. According to the text when “Wiglaf went back, anxious to return while Beowulf was alive, to bring him the treasure they’d won together” (806-808). Beowulf's fate was also shown, and fate says otherwise with the quote. When Wiglaf brought their treasure to Beowulf he found the famous king's neighborhood hero bloody, and he was gasping for breath while in lots of pain. Wiglaf didn’t want to see the famous lord or king like that so he took some water and sprinkled the water all over his famous lord. Wiglaf did not stop sprinkling the water on the lord until the words from his body and deep inside his breast broke through and was heard by Wiglaf. When those words were finally let out of Beowulf, he says “I sold my life for this treasure and I sold it well”. Beowulf once told Wiglaf to lead his people and help them because his time was gone. He wanted the brave Geats to build him a tomb. The death of the lord was like a cremation scene because the funeral flames burned him. He wanted the tomb to be built on the water's edge, high and on that piece of land nowhere else. He wanted it there so they could remember Beowulf as an epic hero and build a tower in the name of Beowulf's towers and boats in the darkness. Then the brave king gave his golden hero necklace from around his throat to Wiglaf. He also gave him the gold-covered helmet and his rings that he went to battle in and his mail shirt and ordered him to use them well and to his advantage. He told Wiglaf before all of his words on his mind went dry that Wiglaf was the last of all our far-flung family. Even though Beowulf dies he fought to the death and another great warrior defeats the dragon this shows good always wins, and they were rewarded for their deed. The things that they have accomplished in life as in the good things they were rewarded for and basically show that even though good vs evil is a theme it is not always a good thing or not always a bad thing. That means that good will eventually overcome evil with the good ways and different ways of thinking that there can be in life
