Employee turnover is challenging to organizations in the face of hyper-completion, corporate failures, absenteeism, retaining employees, and workplace discrimination. Turnover is the process in which an employee leaves an organization and has to be replaced. Employees are instrumental to an organization's success, and a determining factor in an organization's sustaining, and competitive advantage to innovation, consistencies in providing quality service become vulnerable, and there exist major setbacks in service rendered to customers. However, workplace discrimination has affected employee turnover in many organizations. Workplace discrimination is a situation whereby people or organizations act unfairly to weaken the ability of individuals or groups working in an organization to produce a vulnerable outcome. Discrimination is rampant in the modern workplace. Unfairness occurs when the treatment of a particular category of people is unjust. Essentially, organizations have obligations to provide equal job opportunities to employees with different genders, colors, ethnic groups, ages, religions, and other personal traits. Workplace discrimination not only hurts those who are discriminated against, it can also damage the entire organization. Companies may have trouble retaining employees and those who stayed may be dissatisfied with their jobs and distrustful of each other and the company management.

In recent times, as businesses begin to global and with a high intensity of labor mobility, employees are bound to operate in an organization with a diverse workforce. Hence, it is important to these differences in the work environment properly. Managing a diverse workforce is very important for any organization, especially in the era of globalization. Employees who feel they aren’t being treated fairly are likely to leave the company. If the discrimination is widespread throughout the organization, employees may view it as something so ingrained in the corporate culture that they can’t get around it. In this case, they may not even try to make the situation work, instead, they may start seeking other opportunities immediately, creating a dynamic where employees come and go so frequently. It is also difficult to keep up with the hiring and training process of new employees and it is also costly.
