Characters -- Name and description of any main characters
A first notable figure is an old man with huge wings. This man will appear overnight in the courtyard of Elisenda and Pelayo. This character is described as disgusting and disorderly and as someone who does not speak the same language as the others. All these characteristics will make people in the village of Pelayo and Elisenda talk a lot, to the point of imagining that he is an angel who has not received God's grace. At the end of this fiction, the angel will disappear as quickly as he arrived.
The second notable character is Pelayo, he founded a family with Elisenda. He is the first villager to find the old man. Pelayo is apriori a villager with a modest income however, he shelters the angel in his henhouse (This remains very precarious). Despite his fear, Pelayo goes to ask for help from the village priest, Father Gonzaga. Pelayo seems to be an intelligent character because he does not listen to the foolish opinions of the other inhabitants. However, seeing the opportunity to get rich, Pelayo will not hesitate to get rich on the angel's back.

Pelayo's third character but also the wife is called Elisenda. This one behaves strangely for my part. Indeed, she very quickly sees the possibility of getting rich by making her neighbors pay to see the old man. However, she will also see the old man's embarrassing character and will want to get rid of him. Thus, we can conclude that she is an opportunistic and selfish woman.
Then we can talk about Father Gonzaga. An emblematic man of the village, he is considered the voice of reason. He remains doubtful about the old man's origin.
We can also note the presence of the haughty neighbor of Pelayo and Elisenda. She gives only bad advice to Pelayo, such as beating the old man to prevent him from taking Pelayo and Elisenda's child with him.
The last character is that of the snatch. We see that the faith in the angel is abolished because of the arrival of the character of the half spider, she told a story that moved the inhabitants of the city; the premise of her story was that she was wrongly punished because of her disobedience by being transformed from a normal woman into a half spider. The testimony she gave to the villagers aroused many strong feelings of compassion and sympathy. This testimony of the spider woman brought the attention of the angel man to her.
Conflict(s) - Main external conflict(s); main internal conflict(s)
I think the internal conflict is that of the old man. Indeed, the people are giving him a hard time, however, he, after having suffered, will finally heal and see his wings grow back to leave this village.
Secondly, I think that the external conflict mainly involves Pelayo and Elisenda. Indeed, they try to understand where this man comes from and then get rich on his back.
Language - diction, sentence structure, figurative language, tone
Gabriel Garcia Lopez uses a rich vocabulary to describe and a pictorial vocabulary to describe the gloomy conditions in which the old man lives.

'What was most heartbreaking, however, was not her bizarre form but the sincere affliction with which she recounted the details of her misfortune'. (168). This testimony of the spider woman brought the attention of the angel man to her. Here the reader is exposed to a new demonstration of judgment about a person's appearance.
'Frightened ... 'after meeting the old man, Pelayo couldn't believe it. We can also say that he didn't believe it. Thus, we deduce that Pelayo is suspicious.
Theme – Include a statement of theme in your thesis.
Although many people think they are not judgmental at first glance, Gabriel Garcia Marquez shows us in his story 'A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings' that we judge people by their appearance and the opinion of those around us.
