Michael Jackson is the King of Pop. He is called this because he is good at music and entertaining. Michael Jackson affected music history by being one of the first African American artists on MTV. He inspired people to do what he does, which is make people do his dances and perform on other stages like him. He also inspired Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber and Beyonce.
He was famous for his music. ‘Thriller’ was the best-selling album ever. It sold over 45 million copies around the world. ‘Thriller’ has its own Lego version. He was also famous for the moonwalk. He invented the moonwalk dance. He was famous for his fashion and he was a trendsetter. For example, he wore one shiny, sequined glove on his left hand and he wore a hat called a fedora. He wore these when he performed. He also had cool and nice suits. All of the kids starting wearing these things that Michael Jackson wore. If you go visit Motown music in Detroit you will see his hat and other cool things he wore.
He reached people all over the world before the Internet was popular. People everywhere knew his music and he traveled to many places. He had been everywhere.

He connected people all around the world with his music. Even if you were rich or poor or in the middle, he reached everyone with his music. He was also a humanitarian. He worked with UNICEF and a lot of children’s causes. In Africa people had all these diseases and he gave a whole bunch of money to the hospitals there to give them fresh water.
Michael Jackson had a lot of firsts as an African American. He worked with white artists like Paul McCartney from the Beatles. And at that time, MTV did not allow many black artists. “That was the video that broke the color barrier”, Jackson co-manager Ron Weisner said. Some parents wouldn’t let their children watch him on tv. He was also the first black superstar after the civil rights. He was the first artist to win eight Grammys.
In conclusion, Michael Jackson change music history by bringing the world together with his music. His music was uplifting. He made people want to be better and he inspired people to dance and sing. He was one of the first African American artists to be on MTV and the first to win eight Grammys. Here is an inspirational quote from his book ‘Moonwalk’: “Often people just don’t see what I see. They have too much doubt. You can’t be your best when you’re doubting yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself who will?”. Michael Jackson said this.
