“What Goes Around” By Justin Timberlake This song represents the overall theme of The Great Gatsby. This is because Justin talks about a girl he used to be with that is now with someone else. This coordinates directly with Daisy. The song also mentions how what goes around will come back around. Not only does this work with Gatsby and Daisy but the relationship of Tom and Myrtle as well. “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody” By Fergie This song represents the beginning of the story as it directly revolves around these massive parties. Every weekend Gatsby puts on these parties with thousands of people and the talk around town seems to revolve around Gatsby's parties. Not only this but this specific song was one played in the movie. “I Hate You I Love You” by Gnash ft. Olivia O Brien This song represents Tom and his feelings toward his wife and Myrtle. He has serious feelings for Myrtle because he is secretly seeing her behind Daisy and Georges's back. He secretly loves Myrtle but at the same time, he doesn't care about her that much because he hits her in one chapter and buys her love with animals and apartments. His wife comes into this at the end because he says even though he wanders to different women he will always come back which means he is trying to say he still loves her Gold Digger By Kanye West This song describes Myrtle, Wilson.
In The Great Gatsby, Myrtle uses Tom's money on a whim and she even makes a list of all the items she wants to acquire with his money. Right after she buys a puppy with Tom's money she changes her dress several times at a party. This represents her because she uses Tom's money with no limit or remorse “IDFC” By Blackbear This song represents Gatsby talking to Daisy saying how much he loves her and how he will do anything for her. Not only this but it also represents when everyone was at the apartment and Gatsby was trying to make Daisy tell Tom she never loved him and she only loved Gatsby “Dangerous Woman” By Ariana Grande These lyrics represent Daisy and how she gets with Gatsby while she is married. She tests her boundaries and can get away with anything. Also the specific lyrics “God As My witness” which is a quote from the book and symbolizes the eyes of TJ Eckleburg “Started From the Bottom” By Drake This song represents Gatsby. He went from dirt poor when he was young to one of the richest men in the world “Power” By Kanye West This song represents Gatsby. He has an incredible amount of power that lets him do pretty much whatever he wants and get away with it. For example, when he is getting pulled over all he has to do is flash an OxfordChristmass card and the officer immediately lets him go.

She is a famous golfer but has been accused of picking up her ball and moving it. Not only this but she lies about something as simple as leaving the sunroof open in the car. However, Nick is not phased by the dishonest behavior. He still is falling for her and “Loves the way she lies” “Don't You (forget about me)” By: Simple Minds This represents the ending of the book. Gatsby is dead, Myrtle is dead. Daisy left with Tom. Everything is depressing and Nick reflects on the memories he made with The Great Gatsby.
