I am applying for the OMV master’s scholarship program in petroleum engineering at the University of Leoben (Montanuniversität Leoben). Currently, I completed my undergraduate (BS) studies in Geological Engineering at the “BUITEMS” institute in Pakistan. I believe my chosen profession will enable me to fulfill all my desires to help others and to continuously enhance my knowledge and technical skills. Throughout my life, I have participated in extracurricular activities including valuable volunteer experiences. I have striven for academic excellence, always wishing to make the most of my education. In addition, I worked part-time for some of the basic expenses that students have.
Education has always been an important aspect of my life. While in undergraduate studies I managed to take challenging mini projects such as well test analysis, different logs studies, and theoretical-based projects in geotechnical engineering. Despite being a full-time student, I was able to maintain a 3.91-grade point average, got 1st position, and have been awarded a gold medal, allowing me to graduate as a salutatorian. I also take the initiative to enhance my education outside the classroom. I constantly strive for excellence and am committed to making my time as an undergraduate as productive and beneficial as possible.

I have received many scholarships since I began my college career. In 2012-2014 I received a merit scholarship for my HSSC (A-level) studies. I also received two scholarships from my undergraduate institute during my four years study program. The first one was the merit scholarship. The second one was the Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF) providing me with full admission and tuition fees. All these awards were given based on scholarship and community service. Despite the challenges and extra-curricular activities, I have managed to maintain a 3.91-grade point average in my final year. My efforts did not go unnoticed and in 2019 I received a one-time Fauji Foundation Scholarship providing me with 30000 PKR. These accomplishments lead me to believe that in the future I will continue to perform at a high level in academics.
Although education plays a significant role in my life, I am involved with many other activities. During high school, I was an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) for one year. During my membership, I attended the International Annual Technical Conference and oil show in 2017. I frequently tutored individuals by offering my time before and after school for middle and high school students. I enjoy helping others with schoolwork and have continued to aid fellow students at the college level. In my final year project, I act as a team leader of four students and completed my project. Through all these experiences I have learned to act as a leader, work in groups, and organize my time appropriately.
Work is also a part of my life. I worked 16-20 hours/per week to provide for educational expenses. After completing my undergraduate studies, I worked as a full-time intern for two months at an exploration site in Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) Khewra Salt Mines. I also worked as an Apprentice Geological Engineer for six months in the Directorate of Mine and Minerals department KPK, Pakistan.
My goal is to become self-dependent, highly motivated, and have advanced technical skills and expertise in Petroleum Engineering and to become a good researcher in Petroleum Engineering. I think this scholarship is a great opportunity for me to become a good and skilled petroleum engineer. I am convinced that all these factors make me a good candidate for this scholarship.
I would like to thank you in advance for considering my application.
