I believe that the world is your classroom, and it is full of incredible resources. If you choose not to exploit resources offered internationally, you are only robbing yourself of the opportunity for advancement. I am determined to study internationally. I am aware many qualified applicants are set on achieving this goal, but I have the discipline and determination required to study overseas regardless of what obstacles I must overcome, and I will put in the hard work it takes to make my dream come true, because studying internationally is the key that will open the door to many future opportunities, and I am confident this opportunity is the right thing for me.
In 2018, I had the privilege of participating in the Academic Achievers tour to the United States of America. While touring the USA, I visited several universities: Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, and Columbia University. Listening and engaging with the tour guides at these institutions assured me that studying abroad not only in America but in any country offering me the opportunity to study internationally would better equip me with the tools and skills needed to be successful. I plan to become a lawyer because this will enable me to use my voice to give back to my community by doing pro bono cases for those in desperate need. The best law schools are part of international universities, this fact is why I want to study internationally because I will be provided with the tools and skills needed to be a phenomenal lawyer. I also want to study internationally because I believe studying internationally will not only benefit me in terms of building my career but will have numerous social benefits as well. Studying internationally is an eye-opening and life-changing experience. While completing my degree, I would love to learn about different ways of living, different cultures, and new groups of people. Saint Augustine said, “ The world is a book and those who do not travel only read the first page,” studying internationally will require me to travel and read another page of “the world” broadening my perspective of the world.
I know this is the right thing for me because I do not fear being independent, I feel you need to be independent to survive in this world. This is a quality I possess which makes this opportunity the right thing for me because I am not afraid to study in a country where I will be alone, without my mom, dad, brothers, or friends, I do not fear having to depend solely on myself. I have been elected as a prefect and a representative class leader, I can handle the responsibility required to study internationally. I am dedicated to my education, and achieving my educational goals is the foundation for future success. I have placed in the top twenty academic learners yearly, top ten accounting learners every term, top three history learners every term, and I was the top Business Studies student in grade 10. I will do whatever is necessary to succeed, attending extra accounting and mathematics lessons at school weekly. I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends, I believe I will thrive in an international environment. My unique experiences and accomplishments have fueled my desire and determination to grasp the opportunity to complete my studies internationally.
