The Islam religion is certainly not one of peace. After the readings, I definitely agree with the majority, if not all the positions made by the authors of the documents. Calling the Muslims “peaceful” or saying they were not responsible for certain attacks over the years is delusional. It is clear that this is just how their religion is. Its center is one of militaristic expansion and imposing their religion on others through force. Clearly the terrorist who commits an act of violence can’t just be a “fanatic” or “insane” because this is just their religion. As the articles/documents clearly express, the so called “fanatics” are just loyal Islam followers doing exactly what they are told to do and instructed by their belief in Allah. This is what I find so frightening. It is not just the few fanatics, it is the entire religion. Because all in the religion are technically obligated to fulfill Jihad (their holy war), it worries me that these terrorist groups and acts of violence both in the United States and around the world will never end, at least not anytime soon. The only way that the Islam attacks would ever end is if their religion did not exist, which will likely never happen because it is a fairly widespread religion.
Obviously, while it is the center of their religion, not all Islamic people engage in these acts of Jihad or terrorist attacks. Therefore I do not believe it is fair to place blame for these attacks on every Muslim in the world, but I do believe the blame falls upon the religion as a whole. The religion and core beliefs of Islam and Allah are the causes for the terrorism, thus it is totally fair, and I support placing the blame on the religion for causing these acts. After all, the articles do say that over the course of history, the religion of Islam is the deadliest religion of all. It is the single group/idea that has led to the most deaths of people in history, more than the likes of Hitler and Nazi Germany. This amazes me because the violence of Islam recieves essentially very little to no publicity compared the likes of the Nazis. Both Islam and the Nazis performed terrible persecutions and killings, but Islam is responsible for so many more deaths, yet all we learn about are the Nazis and World War II. I understand that Nazi Germany led to a more globalized conflict than anything Islam has, but I feel like we could be at the point where people need to actually do something about Islam. Islam has killed over 250 million people, consisting of any race, religion, or ethnicity, just for the goals of their religion. This has been going on for such a long period of time, but nothing has ever really been done to combat this violence.

At the very least, more people need to know the truth about the Islamic religion. It promotes violence. Yet for some reason nobody is allowed to speak badly about their religion. How could countries set up laws that prevent you from speaking about a certain religion, especially one that is responsible for so much death and pain. I would find it acceptable if a certain country’s government prohibited any degrading talk about any religion for the purposes of keeping and honoring the freedom of religion for all. My only issue is that many countries single out and provide defense for the Islamic religion, which I find confusing and slightly disturbing that so many countries protect a religion of war.
Also, Islam claims their religion is the one from the beginning of time, the longest lasting religion and one that everyone is born with. They say Allah is the God of Moses, Abraham, and even Adam, but yet they throw out the Old Testament as not a real part of their religion. The central human figure of Muhammad is where the religion originated and began being preached, which was sometime in the sixth and seventh centuries. However, they still claim that this God Allah is the God of the people of thousands of years before to whom he had no connection. All the beliefs of the Islamic religion originated from a claimed revelation to Muhammad. Overall, there is no real evidence that can prove close to anything that the Islamic religion claims. The whole preaching and concept of their beliefs in the Koran seems to me to be fairly jumbled and lacks any real evidence other than that one man said this is what Allah said to him.
Finally, the lack of equivalent treatment between Muslims and Christians is quite outstanding. As I wrote previously, the Islamic religion is based on war, they promote violence and proclaim rewards for those who engage is spreading their religion through the killings of others. Knowing this, so many people still protect, support, and defend this religion. The religion is responsible for the violence, people should not be supporting it. Some Muslims I believe are truly nice and great people who I believe should be left in peace, but that doesn’t stop the fact that the encouragement for violence comes from their beliefs. On the other hand, Christians and Christianity in general promote peace and purposely avoid violence. Christians do their best to spread a message of peace. They even came up with a Just War Doctrine, which essentially explains the violence is only acceptable under the most dire of circumstances when there is absolutely nothing else you can do. Christians are declared martyrs and praised when they are killed for their faith. For some reason, nobody seems to care about when Christians are harmed or when they are targeted. Nobody cares when they are at the wrong end of the hateful words or blaming lies. People condemn a religion that does nothing but promote peace and salvation for all, but protect and defend a religion whose many members engage in a goal to kill as many people as possible. This behavior and attitudes by the people of the world just doesn’t seem to add up in my perspective.
Further on that point, the claimed “tolerance” the Islamic religion has for other religions, specifically Christianity and Jewish, is not tolerance. I would define tolerance as the freedom for the group to practice their religion as they would like without any penalties and or extra price involved. The tolerance for these religions, and the Christian Dhimmis who live in these Islamic territories are not granted the freedom of religion. They are essentially extorted and must bribe Islam to be able to practice their religion. If they didn’t pay the tax to practice their own religion, there would likely be two alternatives, to convert to Islam or to be killed. This is not tolerance. After reading all these documents, reading now about how people have proclaimed the Islamic religion in their territories as tolerant confounds me.
For being the most deadly group and religion of all of history, the Islamic religion and the damage and death it has caused seems to go truly unnoticed, or maybe just ignored. For me, almost every terrorist group I have heard of is affiliated with Islam. One could say that these are the fanatics or outcasts of the group, and that this is not what true Islam religion is about. With the continued formation of terrorist groups under the religion of Islam, I truly wonder when will we reach the point where people truly realize the root cause of this terrorism.
The saddest part about all this violence from ISIS and Islam is that it won’t stop. Because Jihad is central to their religious practice, there is also little hope for a reformed practice of the Islamic State. That leaves the world questioning what is the best method of action concerning Islam. There is really no true way to reform or get rid of the Islam religion, and therefore the violence won’t end, so I am genuinely confused as to what the best way to handle this violent religion is.
Overall, I believe that the way in which the people in the world continue to treat different religions needs to have a bigger focus. I believe a primary reason for erroneous beliefs and protection of certain religions comes with the fact that so many people are just not informed. They just do not truly know anything about the religion, and therefore jump to its protection. So many people in our world nowadays will just fight and defend any sort of civil right they here. They will fight everything for freedom of rights, which is totally acceptable if they knew what they were defending. Our world today is just so focused on not upsetting anyone that they fail to truly see the effects that certain things can have and the potential violence that it can lead to.
