Introduction

The Holocaust is one of the most important events of the 20th century. It occurred during the 1930s and 1940s and unfolded alongside the major events of World War II in Europe. It was carried out by the Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler and was part of their anti-Semitic beliefs and values that centered on racial superiority and Social Darwinism. Historians have identified several reasons for the overall significance of the Holocaust, including its importance as an example of anti-Semitism and prejudice, its importance as a genocide, and its role in the development of human rights initiatives after 1945.

Background

Antisemitism played a major role in Adolf Hitler’s thinking and in Nazi ideology. One way or another, it is clear that Hitler came into contact with antisemitic ideas at an early age. His experience in Vienna most likely built his hate for Jews Historians believe, but his hate for Jews, everything was uncertain. Vienna was highly populated with Jews, and Hitler had many bad experiences with the Jews. Hitler did not agree with any of the Jews's Fruition, he found at an early age how the Jewish were living. He saw that Jews were only doing business with themselves, saw that they were stingy with their money, saw that they isolated themselves from other people, saw how culturally religious they were, but he also saw them doing well. They were wealthy. Hitler could have been envious of this, but all this is uncertain. As such a big hate could not be fueled by one thing. One thing we are certain his beliefs and influences came from previous German politicians. The first, Georg Ritter von Schönerer (1842-1921), was a German nationalist. He believed that the German-speaking regions of Austria-Hungary should be added to the German empire. He also felt that Jews could never be fully-fledged German citizens. From the second, the Viennese mayor Karl Lueger (1844-1910), Hitler learned how antisemitism and social reforms could be successful. He had such high regard/ respect for these politicians and it is truly seen in Hitler’s dictatorship that he implemented the ways of these politicians onto his own. So when it all started on January 30, 1933, Hitler was elected Chancellor of Germany he started a dictatorship and convinced the German military to be on his side as he goes on the biggest genocide in recent history, killing of 6 million Jews. Hitler saw Jews as making Germany vulnerable, he felt they were keeping Germany back from their full potential. Especially during WW1 the Jewish citizens of Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles even though Germany was left with nothing, left weak. Hitler must have been fueled by rage by occurrences like these.

Event Details

As said, On January 30, 1993, the president of Germany appointed Adolf Hitler Chancellor of Germany, and this is where all this chaos started. Immediately as Hitler became Chancellor concentration camps were being built, Dachau concentration camp was opened up on March 20, 1933 following this date on April 1, 1933, Jewish were restrained from owning shops or businesses in Germany as the nightmare starts to unfold. On September 15, 1935, Germany implemented Nuremberg Race laws into their books as they have now become a dictatorship nation led by Hitler. On September 29, 1938, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, and France surrender their border regions to the nazi party. On September 17, 1939, Germany invades Poland with the help of the soviet union. Commencing WW2 in Europe. In the year 1940, Germany starts to rain attacks on countries such as Denmark, Norway, western Europe, Yugoslavia, Greece, and more. With all this rattle The Battle of Britain starts. The following year, although Germany sought assistance from the Soviet Union Germany surprises them and attacks them as part of their plan. While the war is taking place the concentration camps that have been built, Jews are now being killed at rapid rates as all Jews are now being evacuated from their homes and transported to the nearest concentration camps most likely to be killed. Japan (allies of Germany) bomb Pearl Harbor, and now the US declares war on Japan and Germany gets an escort from the allies. Now at war with the Soviets and the Allies, Germany can’t take too much power and is forced to surrender. The US and the Soviets plan offenses against German-occupied countries and liberating the concentration camps of Auschwitz, Belzec, Bergen-Belsen, etc. On April 30, 1945, Hitler commits suicide and Germany officially surrender to the Allies and Soviets in May 1945.

Historical Significance Evaluation

The Holocaust truly was historically iconic in the sense of events that impacted a race and all of Europe. The Holocaust left a dent in the history of Humanity and is an event that cannot be forgotten. All of Europe was affected by this event but most of all the Jewish race. The Jews did not deserve such a fate as not anyone, but it really shows the power of one man can influence many to do the wrong thing. There were essentially no Jews left in Germany as 6 million died. This event also impacted Germany in a huge way as after Hitler died and Germany surrendered they were also left with nothing like the Jews. The country was corrupt, lots of wealth was lost, the government was in a mess and a lot of their businesses have been lost taking away the Jewish. This was important to the Jews as they realized how cruel people can be, they lost family, friends, and nearly everyone. Those who got to leave and tell their story are old and still will never forget an event like this. The event was deeply affecting the Jewish Germans, the people have so many sad stories to tell like being a child and never seeing their parents and siblings again as they escaped at a young age. This event affected everyone in Germany. Germany was in rebuilding mode to try and fix the holes Hitler left for them. This event is long lasting, being studied at schools around the world so the youth will never forget the important message this event tells us about humanity. One person can influence many to do the wrong thing. This event affected everyone. International countries had to take notice and give aid to the Jews. As the Jews were trying to find a way to start anew.

The Holocaust is Historically relevant as it was an event of WW2. Everyone who studies WW2 has to link it to The holocaust as this big of genocide has rarely/never been done before in recent history. It gives a message to governments around the world on how not to be. If you have no heart this event is not significant to you other than that, The Holocaust is relevant in History and will continue to be studied for a long time

Conclusion

Many theories about Hitler’s hate towards Jews are uncertain. This big of hate is too big to be true. Learning about the Holocaust is very unsettling but important as we need to learn from this and how to treat other people not because of their race/ differences.

Adolf had Fascist views. He wanted Germany to be populated by pure-german blood, which obviously.
