But I dealt with it and he got over it,
When I started going to school, every paper they gave us always asked what was my career choice and I wasn’t sure There was a lot but I just chose nursing I didn’t know there were different types of nursing but I didn’t know what type of nurse I wanted to be until I went to the hospital with my mom to help her out and my brother and the nurse came and she started talking to me and ask what did I want to be when I up I told her I wasn’t sure she told me to be I should be a labor and delivery nurse and she told me what I will be doing she told me I will be assistant the mother in anything she needs and checking up on her and the baby and how it's really great to become one you get to experience motherhood and I thought about it experience motherhood and taking care of both the mother and the child something that would be a great job to enjoy and I kept it in mind. That was the career choice I wanted to make until a nurse told me about another type of nurse I went to St.francis and I did a job shadow during the job shadow one of the nurses asked me what I wanted to do and I told her I won't be a labor and delivery and she told me that if I wanted to that I should start off being a floor nurse for 5 years then move on as a labor and delivery nurse if it doesn’t work out with you and I told her sure I’ll keep that on the mind. What I found out about floor nurses is they are responsible for the basic care of patients like giving medication, and shots, informing the patients of their condition and diagnosis, and providing emotional support. I liked it but I wasn’t sure if I should do it I kept it in mind if I wanted to do it as a plan B.
What I have done in and out of Sullivan was that in the summer of 2016, I went to a summer peace camp and I was a junior leader and what I did was that I was providing assistance and supervision for younger kids ages 8-10 during the activities that were going on. At first the kids were not to sure if they can trust me since I was 15 that time but when i started to talk to them about school and what they wanted to do they started to trust more i help them out in any ways and they had a problem they always went to me because i understand them i’m still a kid even if im older than them and i remind them i was like them once and i can understand them better if they felt like one of the sisters were mistreating them i would come by and try to make them what they did wrong and i would talk to the sisters about the problem but when the kids could come to me for help one of the sisters would get mad she will try to help and they would decline her because she wouldn’t understand them and she got mad she told me to stay out it and i needed to know my place i got mad but at the same time i understand she felt jealous i talk to the kids that if the sisters wanted to help them they should let them i didn’t want any misunderstanding that i’m making the kids not wanting them i talked to one of the sisters and i apologies to her for the confusion i didn’t mean to make the kids not want their help, she didn’t accept my apology but i was fine with it i made sure the kids were treating the sisters with respected. During my time in Sullivan I was doing a job shadow at st Francis Hospital and what I did was that I assisted in patient charting, patient check-ins, and medication check-ups of geriatric care as well as attending a team meeting. I even worked at Lurie Children's Hospital in the summer of 2018 I Worked in central supplies as a Logistics assistant, restocking medical supplies in the medical room on each floor, letting the manager know what items were out of stock in central supply, delivering medical supplies to the nurse’s, stock count all the medical supplies in central supplies. While working there sometimes I had some problems with my coworker every we got the medical supplies and put them in the cart, he would make it mess I organized the mess and I told him if any of the medical supplies came in a big box we should keep their instead of taking them out and making a bigger mess he couldn't agree to it and told me whatever cps doesn’t even pay as much whenever he go get the supplies I would organize it and make sure each of them had type on them with numbers to make sure they would be placed in the right container sometimes my coworker couldn’t listen to me but I try to make things work out we always got the job done.
