Some people would be petrified to venture into space and witness how beautiful Earth and other space masses really are. Most humans would be willing to go a on a vacation to anywhere safe and alluring, or warm and sunny, but imagine vacationing to a place that is -450 degrees Fahrenheit and nearly all darkness. It may not sound as fun or as exhilarating as the Bahamas, but going to space could be the most amazing thing you have ever done. Space is full of mysterious wonders and clues to Earth's future, which could lead us to things beyond our imagination. NASA is overall the biggest leader in exploring the galaxy, but other industries are rising up to follow NASA’s steps and pursue the dream to climb through space. Industries including SpaceX, Rotary Rocket, Aerospace, and many more. The amount of people with goals to reach space is high because NASA is working on lowering the prices on going to space for tourists. Today, the cost to join a flight to space would be $250,000, which nearly nobody has on hand. A man named Dennis Tito made his money by becoming an investment manager. In 2001, Dennis bought his way onto a Russian rocket that would soon take him space. Tito’s act had given him the name of the world’s first space tourist. Would you like to go to space? Do you think space tourism should continue to be developed throughout the USA? This concept has been discussed throughout the past 75 years and is just now being put into process. A side issue to this situation, is mailing. Not just mailing in general, but sending mail through space. Most people wouldn’t like the fact that they are sending their things into space, but it could make mailing much more efficient.

Space tourism would allow common citizens to experience something both educational and thrilling. A great example of experience is the Mars One Project. The Mars One Project is a flight put together for anyone 18 years old and up. The project is sending citizens who register to a training camp for 8 years where they will learn to survive under harsh conditions, including low oxygen, low water and food supply, sandstorms, extreme wind, and many more. They will then be boarded on a spaceship heading straight for Mars. More than 200,000 humans have signed up to join the mission, but much fewer than that will leave Earth. Crews of four members will depart every four years. Many cargo flights will occur during the period of time that humans roam Mars. Their tasks are to eat, sleep, work, travel and live on Mars. The main goal for the Mars One Project is to fully colonize Mars, which will not happen for a very long amount of time. Very few people get the chance to have the feeling of zero gravity. Stephen Hawking was given the chance to experience zero gravity in a space training facility. He was very excited about the feeling, which then lead to him saying, “Space, here I come”. His enthusiasm made many people feel as though they would want go to space which is now bringing high demand in training facilities and even flights to space. “My life’s goal is to go to space”, - said 26-year-old Jeremy Voight, an engineer, “I’m going to take care of that here at XCOR. Everybody in the company gets to fly”. Jeremy Voight is a prized member of XCOR and brings happiness to all of the crew members. These reasons show how high the demand is for space travel.

Using space travel would create a more efficient and quicker mode for shipping mail. A simple example of how fast the mailing could go is how a package could make it from New York to Tokyo within 30 to 40 minutes of Earth time. This idea could bring thoughts to the safety of their mail. Some may think “Hmm, it might not be very safe, but I want my mail to be sent and received as fast as possible”. In this case, using space mailing would be the brightest idea for most. Prices of mailing would go much farther down because there is not as much gas being used to move loads to different places. The main model of the mailing design has an addition to it that will send cargo to the ISS (International Space Station). This extra will save the US much money because we wouldn’t need to repeatedly go on flights to the ISS. Safety is a big factor in flights to space: anything could go wrong. The rocket could run out of fuel, the power could go out, or you could even run out of oxygen. With space mailing, you wouldn’t need to send anyone into space, which makes it safe and affordable. Since the mailing system would be universal on Earth, the technology would have to be much more advanced compared to your own city picking things up from your home, bringing them to the post office, and then the post office would send them.

Last but not least, the repeated tourism and flights would create many more opportunities for scientific advancement in space. Prototypes such as the Robonaut 2 could be tested on these flights. The Robonaut 2 is a manlike robot that saves time and money because of the fact that it does not need oxygen, food, or water. Recently, the Robonaut 2 received legs that are now being mechanically attached to the robot. With its man-like structure, it will be able to walk over Mars as if it were the Mars Rover. Another prototype used would be new types of oxygen recovery suits. These suits would hold much more oxygen, be much less heavy, and it could possibly change the way astronauts can move and discover. The last thought of how space tourism would allow more opportunities for scientific advancement is plotting. Plotting our future in space. Humans would have many more chances to see space before their eyes. They could imagine what they see as if it were constructed upon. Routes would be one thing they might see, or even future attractions, maybe a Walmart to the left or a Starbucks to the right.

People against space tourism may question the safety of traveling through space, but when space vehicles are developed, they must pass inspection by 100 percent. If they do not pass, they must start over, or completely fix the issue. Another issue to most is the cost of a flight to join a tour of space. NASA is working on lowering the cost of flights to space because the prices are very high today. Today, the lowest price to board would be about $250,000 to $300,000. The highest price seen would be around $1,000,000 to $2,000,000. People who question or discourage space travel often operate from a place of fear. This makes them feel like they can protect themselves and the people around them by going against it. Whoever is against it, might have family members or friends that aren’t afraid and they would worry about them. To the people who are afraid, they aren’t being forced to go and neither are their family or friends. Nobody would be forced to go. The final reason for continuing to develop space tourism is an easy escape. It may sound fiction or myth but if the world is at war or even is at an end, we will already have a routine set up for an escape.

In conclusion, I believe that space tourism and outreach should continue to be developed throughout the United States. Realizing what the citizens of the United States are capable of in space development is incredible. There are many benefits of developing space tourism that prove why we should use space to our advantage. The oxygen recovery system could save lives, we could send important documents to other places in the blink of an eye, best for last, we could see the things you see in books or on TV before your eyes. Whether you are awaiting mail or thriving a trip, someday, we will have our chance to go to space. Space: infinite, wonderful, beautiful, space.
