A genre of music that developed in the United States in the late 1940s and early 1950s is called ‘rock and roll’. No doubt that the father of rock and roll was Chuck Berry; he contributed too much in the music of rock and roll and he was the strength of the music. He introduces various songs by putting their own lyrics in music, he developed various elements like different style of performing. We cannot calculate his impact on the music of rock and roll, he likes to sing by producing good lyrics, which was very helpful to increase the richness and depth of rock and roll music. He produced various albums which beats the hit songs of that times music industry. After the entrance of Chuck Berry in rock and roll music, he begins various new styles of rock music like ‘classic rock’. His songs also inspired some music players like piano man, drummers, guitarists and keyboard players.
In today’s world, rock and roll music are very different than the past music. Firstly, I would like to talk about past music. At that time musicians like to put real efforts in their music like most of the musicians did study to enjoy the real life of music. I think that they feel that the rock and roll music is the best way express their views and opinions through music. They were play their music to find the way of fun, excitement and entertainment and it shows the freedom style of their music that was important.
Secondly, no doubt that in our lifetime rock music has fun and excitement but not like the past. Now musicians do not like to put efforts, they are not giving proper time to produce their music even they like to sing songs that are written by someone. The other thing they catch their audience only with their outer look but not with the ability of good music. Most of the singers become famous because their past family members were famous in the music industry.
Finally, in my opinion, these differences represent that rock and roll music has improvements rather than decline because the music of mid 1950s still present in the hearts of music because of originality of music. Most of the people do not like to listen today’s music because of craziness, meaningless lyrics, so they prefer to listen the old music. Most of the musicians presently using the old bands to keep rock and roll music alive. The other thing I think that the famous singers can bring rock and roll music back will be called modern rock. Rock and roll music cannot reach at the end, because it will be always come into new style according to change in time, by this rock music will be reach at success and become popular among coming generation too.
After discussing the difference between rock and roll music of our time and the music of the mid-1950s, it can be noted that rock and roll, pioneered by Chuck Berry and other famous musicians, is different today. In the past, such music meant much more to musicians; they made great efforts to show their skill in every possible way and surprise the listener, through the lyrics of the songs they raised important social issues and expressed their thoughts about them. Despite the fact that music is technically improving, rock and roll of the past is currently unsurpassed. ‘Old’ music still fascinates today's listeners. Being in the hearts of listeners, ‘real’ rock and roll will live forever.
