The relationship between the parents and the child is amongst the most prominent relationships in the life of an individual. Young children depend on their parents to provide them with fundamental needs as well as their parents provide their children with guidance and support to build their future generations. Communication is the source of social structures and the value of the partnership or its collapse lies in it. Communication entails listening, communication, comprehension, empathy towards each other, and emotion. Communicating basically means understanding how to give and realizing how to receive. The desire of humankind to love, defend, and provide for their children have emerged from the concepts of biological evolution in accordance with evolutionary psychology. Communication is not terribly difficult among families but involves specific capabilities, flexibility, and space. In order to help a child or children interact and deal with their emotions, parents should always respect and accept the feelings of their child or children. It’s essential to identify feelings instead of denying the feelings of a child and comfort the child. To interact more with a child or children the parents should always move closer to the child and get their attention by getting down to their eye level as well as parents should talk clearly, use short sentences, and use positive language so it will aid the child to understand well. Modeling good behavioral patterns by using positive words, maintaining a positive calmness and a confident voice with a steady pitch, tone, and volume will aid children to pay attention. Children always look up to real models to help them shape their personalities and they always try to imitate the behavioral patterns and appearances of people who are desirable and close to them.

Currently, there seems to be more controversy regarding communication but inevitably, there’s less exchange of information. Modernist people have a certain tendency to communicate vaguely on the ground, but it is quite risky. People speak more now than ever over how essential the communication process within the family is, yet we can’t resist but wonder about what might be necessary for parent-child communication. In the absence of communication, family responsibilities will not be scientifically justified whereas communication creates and preserves relationships among parents and children. Via communication feedback, the interaction between parents and children will become more useful and effective. Parents could recognize, know and instead meet the real needs of children through communication as the framework of the motivational process; contact between parents and children contributes greatly to the development of effective and efficient interactions, understanding, and mutual acceptance between parents and children. However, the concern in the contemporary family is not whether the parent or child is engaged in the communication process, but whether they understand how and when to interact and if they thrive in convincing each other what he or she wants via the message conveyed. Sometimes when the child may not understand the actual meaning of a message, the blame almost always belongs to the parent that has failed to grasp himself and has not chosen the most effective way of communicating the message to his or her own child. Communicating when a child is distressed or sad could be comforted only by the parent’s physical presence.
