Despite the emphasis on world techniques and interactions, world history has often been based on the dominance of the West. The western world, also acknowledged as the West constitutes a number of regions, nations, and states. Many historians attribute the Rise of the West to the time period of 1450 to 1850. The western world constitutes the majority of Europe, North America, and Australia. The western world is code-named Occident, which used to be coined from the Greek word Occident which ability sunset or west.

The birthplaces of western civilization are Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. In the previous years, Greece gained ascendancy over Rome on account of the effect on democracy, science, aesthetics, philosophy, building designs, architecture, governance, engineering, law, warfare, republicanism, and religion. To a slighter extent, western civilization is associated with Judaism and is strongly linked to Christianity, therefore the Hellenistic philosophy and the Roman culture.

Economically, the west is usually the developed nation with sturdy economies and excessive incomes. Politically, its nations with democratic governments and free citizens. Culturally, its nations with roots in Europe or the Greco-Roman-Judean culture that used to be constructed upon the thoughts of enlightenment, reformation, and renaissance which is generally referred to as the western civilization.

For a long time now, scholars have tried to give an explanation for why the west on its own the brilliant civilization of the world accomplished an exceptional transformation in output and productiveness in the nineteenth century. When it comes to the Rise of the West, there have been debates about how the west has risen over the previous decades. Scholars have tried to give an explanation for why the west is dominating world affairs economically and politically. From the ongoing debates, pupils have come up with two techniques for the upward thrust of the west. These two strategies are; The Culturalist approach and the Historicist approach. This work seeks to explain the implication of the historicist and culturalist rationalization of the upward jostle of the west to the improvement of Africa.

I will like to commence with the principal argument of the culturalists about the upward shove of the west. the culturalist approach defined how the west rose to financial and political dominance grouping them into two acknowledged as; a way of life and virtuous socio-political and economic institution. The culture that aids success, was once manufactured in three types by using Landes. The first one talks about how geography has been benevolent in western Europe in terms of development, the second one is about the protestant work ethic and the ultimate one is about the social machine of individualism. With the issue of geography, The West had benefits over the other nations which gave them the chance to have control of the world politically, socially, and economically. All we do as humans, one way or different relates to geography. And this aspect is usually overlooked.
