A tragic hero is a character in the play that is portrayed as having an important position. Tragic Hero has to undergo certain misconceptions in discernment which can lead to their own death.

Shakespeare shows these characters as those who are expected to fulfill their goals but somehow fail to do so which may be caused by tragic weaknesses, which may seem to be celebrated at first but later leads to defeat. The character that appears to be Marcus Brutus is considered to be one of the tragic heroes. In the play Julius Caesar, Brutus is recognized as one of the tragic heroes because of the character that he is conveyed to be. Brutus is a well-known politician in his society who seem to be loved and hold great respect for most of the people around him in the play. Brutus is not only appearing to be one person whose strong and does all good things but he also has weaknesses they are they are regarded as normal and are not seen as bad things. Brutus appeared to love Rome and showed that he will do almost anything for it.

Brutus is also portrayed as a character who was living according to his honor and always living according to it. He emphasized the importance of honor and also tried by all means to make those who were close to him live the way he was living his life through honor. Brutus was involved in Caesar`s killing because of the love he had for his country and was somehow convinced to join the conspirators. The joining of the conspiracy made an inescapable his undoing because of the sense of honor that he wanted to show for his country. Brutus was trying to save his country Rome from Caesar`s corrupted action and this was somehow a suppression of the sense of honesty to Caesar as his friend because he somehow wanted to show a sense of loyalty to his country. He had a belief that Caeser was killed to protect the country to satisfy any other agendas of the conspirators.

The dishonest acts that Brutus got himself to be through the influence of Cassius. Brutus was unable to discern the dishonesty of others hence that is why he was easily deceived by Cassius. The tragic hero characteristics of Brutus are also recognized after the assassination where he got to be the only one amongst the rest who was able to experience conscience feeling which leads to him being able to see his wrongdoings. He grows outraged when he realizes he has been tricked. This is where he starts to alert Cassius ‘You have done that you should be sorry’ (4.3.74) these were Brutus' words after getting the whole story behind the killing of Caesar. After these words, there is evidence that Brutus is experiencing feelings of guilt and conscience and he rectifies his mistake of trusting the conspirators and not looking closely at the reasons they had for killing Caesar. He decided to kill himself because he was running away from the fight between him and Caeser`s associate Mark Antony. When concluding the play Shakespeare conveys a message to his viewers and urges them to look be careful before they can start to judge.

Brutus was conveyed as a character who was not only strong but he was a man who lived his life in a righteous way. He never associated himself with corruption or bad thing but because he had to prove his love for his country he sacrificed himself to be involved in something that was opposed to the way he lived his life. This somehow shows how much he valued both his honor and his country.

In Conclusion, the play Julius Caeser is a tragic play that relates to more of life's realities and suggests that we should not expect anyone to be perfect hence there is no human being who will be living his life perfectly without having bad sides. We get to learn that some circumstances force people to do things they do not want to do because they are forced to do them. We can strive to be perfect but a human life also exists because of imperfections which may make one grow and be able to become more of a better person.
