I grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, which has such an amazing community, where there are so many people who have helped me learn and grow, especially my family. I have always been empowered to do my best, and this has helped me accomplish the highest standards I can.
My mother raised me, my brother, and my sister on her own for the first ten years of my life. My mother is the most hardworking person I have ever met, and she inspires me to work hard everyday. When I was ten my mother met my step-father, he helped me develop an interest in math and science, which eventually led to my interest in engineering.

I have always worked hard in school, because my mom has taught me the values and rewards of working hard. She taught me that there can be no success without hard work. My mother has helped throughout my schooling, and had always made sure I have everything I need to succeed. For example, as a freshman in highschool, my mom realized that I was ahead of the curve, she realized that I needed a bigger challenge in school. She helped me get into online school, where I was allowed to take more classes in a shorter period of a time. Thanks to my mother’s efforts I am now graduating a year earlier than I was originally supposed to, and I can never thank her enough for that.
I aspire to become a future engineer. I want to double-major in mechanical and electrical engineering. I know it will be hard, but I also know that I can do it. To put myself through college, I know I will have to work hard and endure the challenges that will come. I have been taught that I can do anything, which is why I know I can achieve my goals of becoming an engineer.
I have always been encouraged and empowered to succeed, but that does not come without hardships. My family has struggled financially for a while, my parents try their best, but they support themselves, and five children. Two of my older sisters are currently attending the University of Central Oklahoma, and my parents are helping them pay for their college tuitions. I also have two brothers, one in middle school, and one in high school, who are both fully supported by our parents. It is hard for my parents to support us, but they do it everyday. This has taught me, if I work hard, I can do anything I put my mind to.
I have always been taught to work hard and pursue my dreams. From an early age, I have seen what it means to work hard, and never give up. I have endured hardship and conquered challenges throughout my life, and this has shaped me into the person I am today. And because of this, I know that I can do anything I put my mind to.
