With the never stopping growth of the Internet, it is almost essential to have an agency to watch over it since nowadays, most of our important information is kept on the Internet. As technology advances the cybersecurity agency must evolve with it to make new blocks to protect information. However, there is not a fool proof plan to keep everything secure from breaches because everything has its own strengths and weaknesses. There have been some previous cyberattacks that were successful and made an impact. We are not safe against possible future attacks and the results from one can be very costly to the United States. Cybersecurity is an ever-changing governmental agency whose purpose is to protect the U.S. from online attacks that cause damage to our country.
Cybersecurity
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was established on November 16, 2018 by President Trump (‘Cybersecurity’, 2019, para. 2). The infrastructure of cyberspace is vulnerable to many risks of both physical and cyber threats. These threats are attempts to steal valuable information and money and with more advancements to destroy the delivery of necessary services. CISA builds the limit to defend against cyber-attacks and they work with the federal government to give tools, incident responses and assessment to protect government networks (“Cybersecurity”, 2019, para. 1-2). With the implementation of cybersecurity into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the United States now has a defense system for every type of attack as of now. One of the key characteristics of the 21st century is that we are at an age where everyone and everything is interconnected (Bullock, Haddow, Coppola, 2016, p.321). Since we are all connected together on online storages it is easy for someone with any hacking tool or knowledge to get information. Our nations important drives with information are on these remote storage systems. Cybersecurity is the activity or process, ability or capability, or state by which information and communication systems and the information stored by them are defended against damage, unapproved use or tempering (Bullock et al., 2016, p. 323).

Key Advantages of the Cybersecurity
There are many different attacks that can be used or sent to steal valuable information that people, or the government wants to keep private. These attacks can be very successful and costly, but the cybersecurity agencies have some advantages to combat these attacks. The first advantage is the agency provides protection against worms, viruses and other undesired programs. Another advantage of cybersecurity is that they protect personal and national data from being stolen. Cybersecurity also increases the cyber speed and cyber defense, while also creating privacy and lowering the rates of freezes and crashes. One final important advantage of cybersecurity is their ability to fight off hackers and people committing identify theft (Carol, 2019). The agency of cybersecurity provides a lot of services, not only to the nation but to everyone on the Internet. They help keep our private information, location, and even our identity safe from someone trying to cause harm to us. However, these security services that they provide are not 100 percent effective in stopping hackers and thieves from stealing money and causing damage online. There are quite a few good things about cybersecurity but, there are some disadvantages that also come with it.
Disadvantages of the Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity provides protection for so many people and so many agencies that it is hard to protect everything and stop every attack at the same time. One of the key problems with cyber security is that firewalls and other blocks can be hard to arrange correctly. Also not configuring these blocks and firewalls the right way can keep users from doing certain actions on the Internet until the block is fixed. Cybersecurity also has to keep updating and adding new software to try and stay up to date with advancements on the Internet. Another disadvantage with cybersecurity is the more blocks they put up the more it slows down the system. A final big problem with cyber security is it is costly for someone just trying to keep their information more secure (Carol, 2019). Not only does the agency cover so much but, the Internet itself and cyberspace is so broad that a large portion of it is not even known about. With the Internet changing seemingly every day it is hard to create new blocks and security for every new thing that comes up making it hard for cybersecurity to function.
Conclusion
Cybersecurity is a governmental agency within the Department of Homeland Security, whose purpose is to keep cyberspace secure. This agency has grown and changed since its creation because the Internet is and forever will be changing. This agency has an important role in keeping the nation secure and safe because for the most part everyone is on the Internet and all of our files are being saved online instead of on paper.
