The deliberate act of deforestation is a understated global issue with deadly affects. I am young but I can tell the earth is in pain, I can see that governments don’t care. Even though they say, and they promise to make changes. Many statistics say that it has only gotten worse …“Forests … are disappearing at an alarming rate. Between 1990 and 2016, the world lost 502,000 square miles (1.3 million square kilometers) of forest” (Nunez ,Christina. “Deforestation explained”. National Geographic. 2019 Oct 18. February 7, 2019.) But…there is still hope for us to stop it, from getting worse from damaging the ecosystem, from damaging us .
When I was in primary school, when my classmates did something wrong, they themselves toke the consequences... but when adults in the government do something wrong, the planet, the people take the consequence. We need to stop destroying and start reserving. “We need trees for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that they absorb not only the carbon dioxide that we exhale, but also [homes for wonderful creatures. they also help]…heat-trapping greenhouse gases that human activities emit.” (Nunez ,Christina. “Deforestation explained”. Even though a lot of damage is done. I believe that the damaging should stop. But only if we act now. If we act together. If deforestation will end then, the planet’s health could improve, and therefore benefit all. If once a month we start a tree planting day and make the leftover forests into nature reserves, it will help. Jul 2010).we are young so we might not be able to battle a government. But we can still participate. Even if it’s just typing an essay instead of writing, it will help… If we are moving forward together, then success is in reach.
Anyone can say they are dealing with something but it takes more than a voice to do something about it…it takes determination, it takes hard work. Stopping global deforestation will stop the consequences from getting any worse. We might be young but that’s no reason to sit back and wait. We can’t bring back an entire forest . But we can save what’s left, save the planet, save our future.
