Into the Wild is a remarkable story of Christopher McCandless, a young man who after graduating from university went to live in the wilderness. He gave 24,000 of his savings to the charity, Oxfam. He abandoned his car, burned the rest of his money, and hitched a hike to Alaska. A few months later he died of starvation in an abandoned bus. Some readers/watchers might think that Chris was a hero for doing what interested him. Still, I have reasons to believe that Christopher was certainly not a hero. Christopher's trip into the wild was deadly and foolish.

One reason why I believe Chris’s adventure was foolish is because he left initially to get away from his family fights. Fights between family members are a common process inside a family and can be solved by problem-solving. He had a humble and loving family and he graduated from one of the best universities in the USA, and he left them. His family gave him what he desired and required. As a result, Chris is supposed to take care of his parents, but he doesn’t even think about it, and he also damages his family relationship to fulfill his selfish goal. When parents become old, they can’t live alone independently because they may face many difficulties. He thinks that his parents are too greedy and believes that giving all his savings to charity is the only right decision he has. Christopher should have stayed at home to take care of his parents when they weren’t able to take care of themselves. Moreover, almost everyone wants to get a good degree to get a good job. Approved Chris’s story, I realized that a professional degree can’t help you get a job if you are a fool like Chris who had a good degree but didn’t have any job because of his craziness. He didn’t take any responsibilities in the society to enhance his experience. He should have gotten a great job and upgraded his skills. He could have found what the truth is through working and experiencing.

Christopher abandoned the place where he had problems, so his achievements such as leaving his family, money, and friends pointed out that he was a fool. Chris's stubborn personality causes him to leave a loving home to start a new beginning as Alexander Supertramp. He refused to educate himself with a law degree, instead taking a journey into the wild, leaving behind his mother, father, and caring sister. His parents supported him and often encouraged him in his endeavors. Chris barreled his community instead of serving and protecting it. Once, he said, “I read somewhere... how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong... but to feel strong.” His determination was the opposite of his quote because if he was strong or even felt strong, he should have faced his problems in society instead of his foolish decision, which was quitting society. In addition, he also gave a bad message to most teens watching the film. His behavior showed that leaving society is a way to solve problems though it is the opposite of reality. For example, you have a problem in your home and want to solve it. Did he think that running away home would solve his problems?

Chris is a fool because of his shortage of preparation. When he is going to go out to some unknown place far away from home, he should have prepared for it. If he had put in a lot of preparation for his journey, people would have noticed for sure. Chris left without anyone suspecting a thing about his journey. Another reason to say why Chris is a fool is that he never took anyone’s advice. If he had taken other’s advice, it could have saved him. many of Chris's friends tried to help him by giving him maps, directions, and other advice but he was too unwilling to take any of it. Ron Franz, a lonely old man appeared to love Chris as a father would, offering to adopt him as Ron's grandson. Chris's selfish personality led him to reject such an honorable offer, completely breaking Ron's heart.

Wilderness is very valuable to Chis. He sees it as a place where he can live by his own rules and be free. McCandless aims to find the ultimate freedom from other people’s standards and authority above him. He desires to live alone, in a world where the only rules to follow are the nature ruling. As the level of freedom, he wished to be in in, Christopher will have to go live into the wild alone. Chris spends so much time and effort to find some food to keep him alive. His letters, diary and notes uncovered his dangerous attempts to survive.
