Traveling is my favorite thing to do in my life. I like discovering new cultures, meet new people, and try new food. So far, I have traveled to many countries in the Middle East, Europe, and America. One of the most beautiful countries that I have ever visited is Italy. The top things I liked were the historical sites and monuments, natural environment, and food.
Italy is very well known about the ancient sites and monuments because of the long history of the country. The Vatican, the Colosseum, Fontana di Treve, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa are famous sites that host millions of tourists each year. The architecture of the building all over Italy is very well designed and adopted designs from other cultures such as the Greeks.
The Saint Peter Cathedral in Vatican is so magical with all the monuments, statues, and Christian signs that were done hundreds of years ago by Michael Angelo. I was impressed with what I’ve seen in the Vatican.
The other fabulous place that I visited while in Rome was Fontana di Trevi. I stand in front of the fountain, held a coin with my right hand, and thrown it over my left shoulder. The fountain with the clear blue water is placed in front of a Roman architecture building surrounded by statues on the rooftop.
When I was at Syria, my favorite restaurants were the Italian cuisine. Pizza pasta and grilled beef are what I usually order whenever I go to Italian restaurant. However, thing tasted differently when I traveled to Rome. They used a lot more of seasonal ingredients and flavored spices. Food was tastier and rich in special sauce, dressing, and cheese. I had the chance to experience the real taste of my favorite plates. The first thing I ordered was fettuccine with the creamy alfredo sauce. Fettuccine is a traditional food in Italy and holds a lot of sauce. They served the dish with basil that gave the flavors a refreshing taste that I will never forget. During my stay there, I had the chance to try many types of delicious pizzas stuffed with pepperoni, parmesan cheese, and barbeque chicken. The flavor combination of tomato, basil, garlic and cheese is enough to make my mouth water. I was amazed with the different restaurant I visited there.
I should also say that the Italian hospitality was an experience to remember. All people in restaurants were greeting us and nice to us. We already felt that we were well treated in a way that we felt that we were still home.
Italy is famous for its large boot-shaped peninsula jutting down into the Mediterranean Sea from Southern Europe. Italy also includes the two nearby islands of Sicily and Sardinia, and dozens of other small Mediterranean islands. During my trip to Italy, I visited the island of Sardinia. Sardinia is famous for the clear and pristine waters, awarded time after time, and for the variety of its coasts. I really liked the white sandy beaches and sunny coasts. The water there is so warm and clean, I was even able to see the bottom of the sea. Also, I did snorkeling, diving, and much more water-based activities. The other thing I like about Sardinia is the seafood restaurants located on the coast. I liked eating outside when the sky is clear and everyone is still enjoying the warm sea water even during the evening.
At last, Italy is the best place I have ever visited in my life. It has such an amazing environment, culture, and food. Italy certainly does have much to offer: spectacular cities, ancient ruins, wonderful museums, soaring mountains, great beaches, and beautiful nature.
