I will always put forth my best effort and try my hardest. Trying my best will allow me to reach my full potential. To me, success and achievement are not necessarily defined by the end result, but rather by the journey that I embark on to reach my goals. As someone who sets high standards, I will strive after those high expectations knowing that I would sell myself short if I had done otherwise. Remaining persistent and continuing to fulfill my obligations despite experiencing obstacles is crucial.
Persistence means to continue in any course of action despite feeling unmotivated to do so or in times of opposition. I will not give up and learn to get over and get through challenges knowing that I will eventually achieve results and success. I will never lower my self-esteem or self-confidence by talking myself down but rather remain optimistic. Everybody struggles with confidence at some point in their lives as no one is perfect. I must trust in myself and my own abilities and learn to let go of the fear of failure to reach my goals. I will treat others as I would like to be treated, especially with regard to dignity, respect, and justice.
Essentially the “Golden Rule,” I will instinctively develop a sense of empathy and compassion for others. In addition, I will learn not to judge other people or be critical of their differences but rather learn to build harmony by reciprocating, listening, and communicating with others. I will always support and listen to others believing that I can also grow from what others have to offer and say. By listening to others, I will learn to receive information and understand what is being communicated to me. The art of listening will enable me to improve my communication skills as I will be able to share others’ thoughts and input and relate to them.
Family is my number one priority. My biggest responsibility is to make my family happy. My family brought me into this world, cared for me, and protected me. Regardless of whatever happens in my life, my family will always be there to support me first. I will seek to maintain a strong relationship with my family as family means everything. My personal Code of Ethics will guide me in my everyday choices and help shape me into the ideal individual that I am striving to be.
Many of the values and principles in my Code of Ethics stem from the influences of my educational institution and my family. By following my personal Code of Ethics, I will improve and develop to make better choices in my daily interactions, decisions, and actions. I will also learn to hold myself to a higher standard, which will contour the individual that I imagine and aspire to be. As I continue to grow and encounter new problems, I will revise and expand on my personal Code of Ethics accordingly.
