One famous quote reads “People do not have to bring a silver fork for eating good food”. It can be referred from this quote that when family members dine together, their relationship is strengthened. But this tradition has started to fade from recent lifestyle. Globally the advancement in technology and modernization overpower the traditional method. However, sometimes, it is not possible for the new generation to follow traditions. Research shows when family members stop dining together, their relationships are affected adversely.
Firstly, members of the family have a meal together at regular intervals. However, it is not a major concern about the nutrition contained in that food. Because dining maintain the cultural rituals and relationship among the family. Among the different cultures, it serves as a hospitality, and fellowship in regards to the values of duty. Food sharing is an indication of friendship and also reliance on faith. Fading the traditional method leads to family separation. Recent generation face this problem because they do not have enough time to spend together. Some of them are busy with their schedule and daily routines. While the newest generation is busy with their phones.
Secondly, the youth of the family mostly prefer to eat junk foods and fast food as they are less likely to eat healthy food prepared at home. On the other hand, some of them are getting tired from routine work and due to that, they skip their meal. Moreover, the old generation likes to eat early as compared to the recent generation. Due to their hectic lifestyle, people become introverts which causes less interaction and conversation among the family. The succeeding generation is majorly influenced by partying outside which is one of the major impacts. Also, financial background affects this tradition as they do not have a dining table of the comfortable size on which family seat together.
As a result of the mentioned causes disappearance of traditional methods leads to weaker family strength. And it majorly affects the behaviors of family members. Most children are not aware of cultural rituals. They are not able to learn the table manner. Furthermore, sometimes they behave strangely towards their parents and also are not able to find the solution to their problems. Due to this people are turning towards junk food rather than healthy food. Lack of this tradition affects the health of family members.
In conclusion, although there are many adverse effects of vanishing this tradition from recent lifestyle, people tend to ignore them. It is not possible for the recent generation to have food together all the time but in some certain intervals, it results far better than today’s family environment. Moreover, they are getting aware of their social background and learning socializing.
